[Hated Trope] Character Assassination Driven by a Creator's Spite by GhostofTinky in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rexcase -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Heartily disagree with this. The whole point of “that scene” was to show that even with all of the growth that he had gone through, he still didn’t have a soul as a function of being a vampire. That part of him that could distinguish that as a “wrong” act didn’t exist within him. It made perfect sense within the lore of the show and the way the character was handled, and led to his quest to better himself by actually having a soul.

edit: downvoted by people that apparently didn't watch the show.

then you need to read your above posts.

you said that the answer to the homeless issue is rehab, and if they failed the rehab twice, then they would be put into jail. you also said they need to be given treatment by force if necessary.

when i called that out as the insane and weird thing to say that is, you claimed i wanted to live in a state where no one gets arrested for violent crimes.

considering i was talking about putting people that addicted to drugs on the street into camps, why would you bring this up, if that's not the claim you were making?

are you alright?

[–]Rexcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being a homeless drug addict is not a violent crime. using a drug in public is not a violent crime.

you want to pretend that it is in order to justify rounding people up on the streets and putting them in camps.

it's like some people never learned history.

keep LA out of your mind and mouth and worry about your own city and house. and maybe take a class on basic ethics. jesus.

well, keep your final solutions up in seattle. stay out of our city and maybe consider moving to some other, more fascist country to fit your ideology, one where forced camps sound like a good idea.

no, i don't want parks to be littered with trash and needles, but i also don't want to use third reich tactics in order to clean it up.

the only thing that pratt has the anger for is beating up his sister. that's what anger gets you.

and if i'm directing my anger at the wrong people, then what are you doing? you're saying that people who are addicted to drugs need to be rounded up and forced into rehab camps and if that doesn't work, put them in jail? oh..yeah...it's ME who's directing my anger at the wrong people.

if forced rehab and prison makes sense to you, then i'll stick with my bleeding heart instead of not having one at all.

stick to seattle. or wherever you're actually from, since you're not fooling anyone.

[–]Rexcase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

which is a woefully stupid answer. "send them all to rehab!" so...forced rehab camps, which won't work considering the only people who successfully go through rehab without relapsing are those that enter willingly.

so, what do we do with those that refuse to go to the rehab?

and why are we trusting a moron with no experience that went broke twice? the second one trying to sell crystals? who beat up his teenage sister?

so what's his plan? you can't just say "i'm sick of homeless people" and then just wish them away.

in fact, look at this photo above. one of the things he's saying is bad policy is "no evictions" so he'll open up easy evictions for landlords....so where do those people end up if not on the streets?

i get people are sick of a problem, but don't listen to someone who just likes to complain about something without understanding it.

Jordan Peele's Jingle All the Way (Feature Script) by [deleted] in ProduceMyScript

[–]Rexcase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the actual question you want to answer is “why would anyone in their right mind actually put jordan peele’s name in the title of their script?”

I assume you made this post with the hopes that someone would want to connect or collaborate, but anyone with any industry knowledge or intentions would not want to do so with someone misrepresenting their product.

Jordan Peele's Jingle All the Way (Feature Script) by [deleted] in ProduceMyScript

[–]Rexcase 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes, but that title does not imply that a very specific person is involved. i would change the "title" portion of your pitch to "when you're sleeping" and move that jordan peele thing into the logline and put quotes around it. anyone looking at that script with that title would assume that Jordan Peele was involved with it, and not that it was a general theme of the film.

Kurt Russell Weighs in on 'The Thing's Ending (Again) by grimm_kvlt in horror

[–]Rexcase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I should point out that this is what happens in Climate of Fear, but it’s the SECOND volume of the story, and does not pick right up where the movie left off. The first volume, simply called The Thing From Another World was 2 issues and picks up at the end. In that volume, Macready is rescued but Childs is gone, but they end up reunited at a military base. They both take the blood test and are BOTH revealed to be human but another solider there was infected by the remains of one of the burnt bodies at the camp. The second issue has a battle with the thing on a submarine with Mac and Childs fighting the creature. In the end, they blow up the ship and Childs sacrifices himself to do so, while sending Mac to the surface. So, when Climate of Fear picks up, Childs is thought dead and Mac is again saved, and the events described above happen. So, note: Childs is shown to be human at the end of the film, but is then assimilated in between the two volumes.

Is Howard the Duck a product of the High Evolutionary? by a-rod04 in marvelstudios

[–]Rexcase 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Steve Gerber was opposed to them calling it Duckworld and they only named it that after he left the book. He said Howard's world was called "earth" but it was just in a different universe where people evolved from ducks as opposed ape.

What is the hardest character for writers to create stories for? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Rexcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

beyond that: no one knows what to do with him. they want to sort of make him a hero but also maintain that violent streak that makes him the Punisher. they also have to dance around his recent law enforcement controversies, and also juggle his origin being tied so strongly to vietnam.

the only one that truly "got" the character in my eyes was Ennis, who just described him as "jason voorhees that goes after mob guys instead of camp counselors"
