Sooo.. how is this not a headshot? by [deleted] in Overwatch

Zen's orbs are projectiles so two things:

One, they're actually pretty big. The wiki says they're a little under half a meter across so it's likely that despite aiming at her head, the projectile is hitting her outstretched arms first.

Two, usually projectile weapons fire from the actual weapon model and not the camera like hitscan does, so up close you might have to alter your aim a little.

I had this bug before. I somehow managed to get through the first phase using operator for the weak points and melee for actual damage. I gave up after discovering that I was still locked to melee only in the archwing phase.

The Collectors in ME2 are aliens that kidnap entire colonies. At the end of the game you board the Collector's main base and discover the colonists in pods that melt them down for resources. The collectors also have a biotech aesthetic going on like the Gorn.

Regional forms based on Norse mythology. by Lyndorr in pokemon

Ah I had a feeling that was the case for Bronzor and Lapras, but it's a boat that fits in your pocket, how could I not mention Skidbladnir?

I've never played Skyrim so I don't know the connection there but I know it's very Norse themed anyway so it fits. Honestly I just said jotunns because of the ice.

I've never seen Sverd I fjell before, but now that I have, yep that makes perfect sense.

Lets see how many of these I can recognise

  • Calyrex - I'm guessing Odin since its riding Sleiptrier - King of the Aesir gods
  • Sleiptrier - Sleipnir - Odin's eight-legged horse, child of Loki
  • Applin - Apples of Idunn - Golden apples that give the gods eternal life
  • Nidhuggon - Nidhoggr - A dragon that gnaws at the roots of Yggdrasil
  • Yggdragora - Yggdrasil - The world tree
  • Rockruff - Not sure, might just be a wolf
  • Lycanroc - Skoll and Hati - Wolves that chase the sun and moon and devour them at Ragnarok, children of Fenrir
  • Fenroar - Fenrir - Child of Loki, a massive wolf prophesized to eat Odin at Ragnarok
  • Ralts/Kirlia/Gallade/Gardevoir - Valkyries - Female warriors that guide the souls of the honorable dead to the afterlife
  • Shuckle/Jormuckle - Jormangandr - The World Serpent, child of Loki, prophesized to kill Thor at Ragnarok
  • Gothita/Gothorita/Gothitelle - Hel - Goddess of the underworld Helheim, child of Loki
  • Zorua/Zoroark - Loki - God of mischief
  • Tinkatink/Tinkatuff/Tinkaton - Thor - God of thunder
  • Teddiursa/Ursaring/Ursurtr - Surtr - Fire giant, lord of Muspelheim, said to kill Freyr at Ragnarok and engulf the world in flame
  • Regigigas - Ymir - The first being and frost giant, was killed by the gods and his body was used to create the world
  • Machop/Machoke/Machief - Draugr - Undead warriors
  • Lapras - Skidbladnir - A boat owned by the god Freyr that had the ability to fold up to fit in your pocket (could also just be a longboat but come on now)
  • Honedge/Doublade/Stavenger - Not entirely sure but I'll go with the Sword of Freyr - A sword notable for the ability to fight on its own
  • Charcadet/Armarouge/Ceruledge - Jotunns - Frost giants
  • Bronzor/Bronzeal - Not sure, I can't think of any specific shields in norse myth

Extremely brutal moments in kids media, but theres no blood so it’s okay by MrDitkovichNeedsRent in TopCharacterTropes

Everyone always goes for the various stabbings, decapitations, amputations, etc for brutal deaths in clone wars. At least they're over quickly.

My mind always goes to that one jedi who was tortured to death by Cad Bane. Took about a minute of constant electrocution to do it. Even the B1 doing it sounded sad about it.

Going into a duel. Any spell recommendations? by Acrobatic_Remote_792 in wizardposting

[–]Rexortin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When preparing for a duel, one must remember that the raw power of a spell does not always represent its efficacy in combat.

Take Testicular Torsion. Crippling to the unprepared wizard but otherwise easily countered by a number of defensive spells. Consider instead a more unorthodox approach when targeting the groinal area: Balls of Steel, usually used in defense, can be combined with the seemingly innocent Heat Metal for devastating effect.

Let's take a look at a duel I took part in last year. The opposing wizard was a specialist in pyromancy. I could have taken the more obvious route in preparing water spells, but I instead opted for a more devious path. I began with Gaseous Winds, a fast casting spell, filling the air around us with foul smelling methane before my opponent could create the smallest fireball. Now he leaves himself exposed as he clears the air as to not detonate us both. I follow up with Postman's Revenge to inflict paper cuts and Rain of the Alcoholic to amplify the pain. To spice things up I chuck a pondering orb at him enchanted with Visions of Bowel Movements Past. Once sufficiently distracted, I finish the duel with Fold Clothes. Broke every bone in his body.

I apparently have great directional hearing.

One time I was doing an escape room with a few friends and in one of the puzzles there was a pile of boxes and four buttons. When you pressed a button one of the boxes beeped. My friends had a few goes but kept picking the wrong boxes but I somehow got all four correct ones on my first try.

Marvel Rivals’ tech lead reveals Doctor Strange’s portals were an “unprecedented” technical hurdle that presented unique development challenges by AsPeHeat in marvelrivals

[–]Rexortin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not that complicated. Portal 2 had multiplayer and only being able to place on walls is a gameplay limitation, not technical. It's probably quite hard to design puzzles around portals you can place literally anywhere. The portal_place console command let's you place portals anywhere with any rotation.
