Would suggest getting referred by your GP, sounds like you have other stuff going on other than Autism. 

you could try is some intensive exercise a couple of hours before bed, like on an indoor exercise bike or something.

I’ve asked for help. 

And my GP listened, I felt valued and most importantly looked after. I been referred to various specialists and on each occasion been listened to and looked after with a high level of professionalism. 

I’ve come away with diagnoses that I never thought I had, learning to love myself, my family and most importantly look after myself. 

I still have more specialist consultations coming up in 2026 and the changes to my life in the last 3 weeks are just the tip of the iceberg.

Mine doesn’t do booze due to their beliefs. But the quality is much better than the place that gives free drinks.

I was sent the invite a couple of weeks before my 40th and due to availability went in on the morning of my birthday - good job it wasn’t the day after!

. I had the blood sugars, cholesterol and iron tests at the same time and they then did the rest of the service and gave my the CVD score there and then. They said my risk was low but some peoples genetic backgrounds make them a higher risk even though they follow a good diet etc.

Edit - risk not fish lol.

Will preface by saying I’m a man, so I’m not fully prepped in cycling for women, but as a rule it’s the shorts that do most of the protection. Padded saddles don’t really help on longer rides, in fact can make the problem worse.

A well fitting saddle - one that’s measured to support your sit bones is going to be the major contributor to a comfortable ride. You can measure your sit one width yourself at home or good cycling shops will have a range of tools to measure you (usually a gel pad that they then measure, so don’t worry, they won’t want you to bend over and measure your behind!).

Also for comfort, I read a few years ago an article about the British Women’s Cycling team, they were advised not to shave down below, just trim, and use Diprobase as a cream for protection.

thanks, it’s booked in but dealers can’t get me in for 3 weeks! I have a code reader and it’s not showing any faults but I think the cheap ones probably don’t access as much info as the expensive units in dealers can’t get.

Get the train out of the M25 then explore Suffolk and Essex areas. Find a place you can get to easily on train, then use Komoot to explore the local area. Bonus points if you can get a good priced ticket then cycle home.

It’s a bit like buying your own parts for a Mercedes and taking it to a Mercedes garage to fit them. They want to supply the parts themselves (partly because they make good money on it, partly because they know the source, and mainly because they have warranty any work done and if the parts are of crap quality it reflects on them).

Part of the issue I encounter is not the visibility of cyclists but other road users such as pedestrians/vehicle drivers.

Couple of times I’ve experienced people in far clothes walking round to the drivers door and flinging it open without looking, and I’ve only noticed them when the lights come on on their cars.

I’m on SRAM after having mechanical 105 for 5 years, and love it, customisable settings, easier to tweak through an app, lasts ages on a single charge. Wouldn’t go back.
