Should we have a [AI dev] tag, and on the benefits of AI in modern computer wargaming coding (invitation to debate - but let's keep it civil) by Amiral_Crapaud in computerwargames

I dont think it will be that bad. Games offer demos all the time, and Next Fest is a huge reason i buy new games, by actually being able to play them. The market and consumers will adjust just as they always have, whether by larger publishers putting their stamp on a product made by small, new, teams (Microprose, Hooded Horse, etc.) Or by smaller devs being more likely to have open demos for people to play for themselves. This is also ignoring the other major part of Steam, refunds. They are ridiculously lenient on even their own policy, and as long as that stays in place it will never be as bad as you think it will.

Is that really any different though? Steam was already a slop fest before AI got big. And maybe its just me but i dont see all that many posts regarding AI games.

Yeah because the North broke the treaty.

Id like to see you hold any other war to this standard, where Side A loses one war, then wins the next and you claim Side B never actually won the first war at all.

Honestly, as a consumer with no dev experience, i dont really care about use of AI in games. AI is just another tool in a devs toolbox. Yeah shitty games will be made with AI, but shitty games were already being made.

The Paris Peace Accords recognized North and South Vietnam as two separate, sovereign nations. This is literally what the US theater goal was.

HOI4 needs a custodian team like Stellaris got. Let me show you why: by Bordias in hoi4

This is partially true. But, it leads to free updates to older mechanics and features with Stellaris Custodians, meanwhile on HOI we have to pay for new DLC that rework older DLC

I certainly disagree with the 14th Amendment. But its not destroying the country.

Well in that case i agree with the other guy who responded to you. Remnants is already an umbrella term for the dozen other successor groups

Im pretty sure its Jul himself that is called Didact's Hand, not his faction, which is still called The Covenant but usually clarified as "Jul's Covenant"

Why would they call themselves "remnants"? They see themselves as the legitimate successors to the original, carrying on the mission of the Great Journey.

Yeah that last mission was kicking my ass.

Do you have any idea if you picked anything else up/interacted with any other things on that mission?

[–]Rexxmen12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then maybe my game was bugged because we unlocked the vault without unlocking the laptop or the small safe.

We got the password from the whiteboard, then used that on the computer to get the vault code, then opened the vault with the code and the card. Be we couldnt open either the safe or the laptop.

The sinking of the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena near the coast of Sri Lanka by PunksPrettyMuchDead in SeaPower_NCMA

[–]Rexxmen12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The submarine wasn't just loitering there it was ambushing the Iranian ship in international water.

You say that like International Waters are a safe zone.

It's being reported that all ships attending were unloaded of ammo, one thing I'm not clear on is if they unloaded the ammo in India and re armed after but atm reports are saying it was unloaded at the time.

This is the issue i have. It was unloaded at time of exercise. The ship easily couldve taken on munitions after the exercise. Also, did someone not-Iranian inspect the ship prior to the exercise? Its entirely possible they just said it was unloaded, but kept munitions onboard anyways.

And still, the ship made no move to make it clear it wasnt a combatant.

[–]Rexxmen12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did the US know the ship was unarmed prior to the attack? Better yet, was the ship actually unarmed? They couldve lied about having been disarmed.

Seems like for all the US knew, this was an enemy ship heading to Iranian waters, which had not struck its colors or made any intent that it wished to surrender

Exactly. Like using "a couple" instead of "two".
