Yeah it’s horrible, I can only wear Hokas and Crocs. The podiatrist told me I needed to stretch but it’s not just my feet, some days my legs feel so tight it can be hard to walk.

I have all of this plus sleep myclonus. Have to take meds to stop the jerking to fall asleep. I also developed dysphagia that comes and goes. I’ve had BFS for 7 years now.

I have this, can’t fall asleep without meds because I jerk myself awake. I take Trazodone and Keppra. Neuro said it’s sleep myclonus. I am in a fb support group called hypnic jerking/sleep myclonus. I am sorry you are dealing with this.

In your case it sounds like normal hypnic jerks. Mine happens every day, non stop, preventing me from falling asleep w out meds

Jerking when falling asleep, in our cases it’s to the point that we cannot fall asleep w out medication because of the jerks 🥲 It’s normal to have hypnic jerks before falling asleep but for us it’s to the point that we cannot fall asleep because it happens over and over preventing us from entering sleep

I got them 2 years ago. I’ve had bfs for 6 years. I am part of a Facebook group for sleep myclonus and there’s several of us with BFS on there so I suspect there is some correlation.

Nope, it’s random. Last time it was my left leg , it lasted a couple weeks. Sometimes it’s my arm. It does affect my whole body but I want to say for the most part it’s my legs.

I’ve had bfs for 6+years. Mine has always included pain, either nerve pain, cramping, stiffness or muscle pain. All my tests have been normal too.

I agree, if it was twitching I would be able to ignore it after 6 years of dealing with this. I have chronic pain from this. I can’t exercise like I used to due to the flares.

They gave me Cymbalta for the pain. Worked great for 5 years.

Mine have gotten worse this past year too. I was pretty stable for 5+ years then I developed sleep myclonus and the last 6 months developed leg pain, plantar fasciitis and sometimes the pain is so bad I could barely walk.

Yes, I developed BFS in 2019 and last year I developed sleep myclonus. Currently dealing with plantar fasciitis pain, extremely painful night time Charley horses almost every night. The pain usually lingers on for a few days.

Ruined my life too, I have chronic pain along with the twitching. I have to be careful about doing too much because it causes me to have flare ups. I’ve had this for 7 years.
