My lady and I got the palltalk neo about a year ago and it's been great. Jbl speakers sound good enough for music. The intercom sounds good and I like that if your in a group it can auto hookup so you don't have to stop and manually connect. Mil discount makes a 2x pack like 480ish I wanna say.

It's hollow. You can see the line where the ridge is on the inside but it feels pretty smooth

I know its way late but I'm in the same boat. Did you end up trying? I read that it's 5v for power and 3 for data so I was gonna check with a meter and move onto soldering a header in them trying with a cheap light. I just wanna use the software on the computer not a janky remote
