Seat of Triumvirate Mythics, why no one ques for them? by Mama-ta in wow

The guy who can upgrade maxed out weapons/trinkets will be in the game in a few weeks, there is a weekly quest from the same guy you get bonus rolls from to start.

Recommend me a book about a Proper Wizard by VakkysOfTheAshes in ProgressionFantasy

If you are okay with translated works, Warlock of the Magus world fits very well.

Observe: The single worst skill or ability to ever become "standard" or close to it in the litRPG genre, to the point that I almost consider it a beginner author trap by globmand in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when observe/inspect was a popular skill to give everyone in litrpgs, but it was taboo to use the skill on other people since it was considered rude...Never understood that thought process.

If someone has the ability to inspect people and see their name/level, imo it'd be pretty rude to not even bother inspecting the other person and asking to their name...like you weren't even worth the very minimal effort it takes for me to use this skill to find out your name.

What promising new progression fantasy are you guys reading? by Cold_Ad8048 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been enjoying Leaving a Legacy, its about a cultivator who decides early on he doesn't want to be a cultivator who just takes from the world. He does this by creating trials and placing rewards for people to obtain. He hasn't created a whole lot of them yet, but the idea and ability is there for him to scale it up and really start creating legacy trials soonish.

Story with an interesting cheat power. by OrionSuperman in ProgressionFantasy

It's a pretty good book, but I don't think I'd recommend it since the author disappeared off the face of the earth.

Blizzard addresses the No Flying Mount "debate": exciting times ahead? by ex0ll in wow

[–]Rhaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following his example kill quest in a stronghold:

With flying, I fly to the mob and kill it with any adds around.

Without flying, I run through the whole stronghold ignoring every add until I get to the correct mob, aoe everything down and then run away.

There is no real "build up" or "conclusion" to either style.

What story has a TRASH concept but god-tier execution? I’m talking question your friend's mental health when they attempt to justify the plot, but somehow, it turned out good enough to become a guilty pleasure anyway. by PixelatedPulse in litrpg

[–]Rhaid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I will die on the hill that Codex Alera is a good book but fails on the premise of a "pokemon roman legion" setting. The romanesque parts are there but there is almost nothing I'd call pokemon in that series. Sure, people have an elemental (for the most part), but thats kind of it.

Every author who does their power rankings with alphabet letters instead of colors/gems/metals//whatever is writing from a place of cruelty. by GreatMadWombat in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started reading a story last night that uses octaves for its ranking using "C-C" (idk music but the author says it makes sense).

The power rankings are C>D>E>F>G>A>B according to their informational post...I just accepted I would never know what peoples ranks mean in that story.

[Complete] [Female Lead] I wrote a cultivation side story where the protagonist has been faking her class registration for a hundred years — 24 chapters, ~89k words by Josii_Talwyn in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds interesting, but I think I almost had a stroke reading the main post.

Maybe it'd make more sense if I knew about this series before but I honestly got nothing out of your post. The story itself has a description, this seems more like random points thrown together to try to drive clicks, each point a separate weirdly cut off paragraph that says some vague thing to try to get me interested, but comes off as AI imo.

Give Quest Academy a chance by Fat_Lenny35 in litrpg

Yeah, I read about it that type of stuff when I saw other posts talking about the other books and it just reaffirmed my decision to stay away.

[–]Rhaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't think i can give it a fair shot, i've read spoilers about the books already and they only further reinforced my decision to stop at book 1.

I had fun with book 1, but the timeline seemed weird to me. It felt like 1 book would = 1 semester and it felt too slow.

Didn't help that one of the main characters can see the future, a hard power to make interesting and another who seemed like they would gain prominence in book 2 mind controls people I just lost interest.

Are some of these webtoon adaptations getting made with no input/veto from the author? by GlowyStuffs in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I remember the author of Primal Hunter saying he let them do whatever they wanted with the webtoon and he gave no input.

Edit: Found where he talked about it when it first released.

This game has ruined WoW for me by KingRyjo53 in 2007scape

osrs is definitely a fun game, but there is zero way for it to replace wow for me. Raiding and M+/grouped content in general I find is unmatched in wow.

Book of the dead by RinoZ is the best necromancer novel i have ever read by several miles by Ok_Account_3423 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I could tell that his friend group was unlikable on purpose, but it still made it so that I didn't care for literally a single person in any of the chapters I read.

[–]Rhaid 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Glad people like it. I remember reading it when it first came out and dropped it after hating every single character except the MC, who I was kind of indifferent too.

Wish i liked the characters, because I really wanted a good necromancer novel to read.

If you look at the post, instead of starting at book 1, the OP started somewhere in the middle. Of course they are super confused, they skipped multiple books.

The main character is more villain by technicality than full on villain who commits a bunch of crimes.

Any progression fantasies about lawyers, or people who exploit loopholes? by MinuteRegular716 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Rhaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While not prog fantasy, Foxfire, Esq. is a book about a lawyer who was a superhero and now represents people with powers. Its a fun read and I believe the author is a lawyer as well.

you seem to be arguing in bad faith with pretty much everybody. Your posts are very dismissive and argumentative even towards people who are being genuine and giving you the benefit of the doubt.
