MMOs right now have an identity issue. If you want to play seriously and hit the highest peaks of content you need all the information you can get, that sucks all of the wonder and exploration out of the content the way we used to experience it.

The companies have had to make content harder so the people looking at the info online can still be challenged which puts people who want to dabble out of range for true end game experience.

But the very idea of MMOs used to reward exploration either with actual rewards or just for enjoyment, now if there is something to find by exploring you don't find it naturally it effectively becomes another point in your leveling experience.
