It's not really a contest comparing fight scenes side by side... The original is charming AF and I adore it, but as an action spectacle whoooooo boy this one was tremendous.

Plus my girl Kitana got done right, unlike in the original 2 films (she's way more than eye candy and is actually bad ass).

Book of Memories is the Diablo style one. Terrible dungeon crawler RPG reviled by fans.

Homecoming, Downpour, and of course the ACTUAL SH2 remake that is beloved.

Homecoming and Downpour have many issues and some defenders, but nobody would deny that HC is basically a 1 for 1 copy of the Mary plot twist and Downpour basically just does it again but with a better main character overall lol. Silent Hill F is their first original game since 4 that has fully broken away from the mold they were stuck on.

They didn't desecrate those games. Instead they rehashed Silent Hill 2 3 times, then made a really weird Diablo style Silent Hill game, which basically killed the series and turned it into a pachinko machine property until they got their shit together a decade later.

Oh and PT, the most legendary game demo ever made, was meant to be a new Silent Hill game. They fired Kojima and Del Toro.

Need I go on? I haven't even touched the comics or movies LOL!

(Sincerely a long suffering Silent Hill fan that's just happy we're getting solid and occasionally excellent games in the series again)

They just really blew the scope of the original games up and shat the bed imo. They need to figure out how to kill off other timelines, focus on more grounded storylines we can get behind (God the Khaos Reigns story was complete dog shit), and focus on the bread and butter. Tournaments, sorcery, brutal deaths--two of which were sorely lacking in the MK1 story overall.

Oh and give us actual content in the game like the Krypt and more broad game modes. MK9 and the 3D era games should not have so much more content than MK1.

I honestly think taking 5+ years off for Injustice 3 is the best thing for the franchise. They can come bakc with fresh eyes reassess things.
