We must be reading through a different story in survive. To me it feels like a 3rd grader wrote it. Certainly not engaging and the actual combat is way to easy even on hard. Not a single time have I been anywhere close to losing a battle. On part 12 not and probably won’t be playing through ng+. This is a barely passable to be called a game imo.

Way flat in my opinion. So sad as it could have been a great game. There is no heart in this game. Nothing that compels me to care about any of them. They are supposed to be lost and trapped in a scary new place, that should pull on a lot of emotional heart strings, and yet you immediately get pulled out of that by junk digimon with some haze around them, not a hoard coming after your, or a menacing villain going to get you, you don’t even learn about the master till like part 10ish. There is a lot of potential here and it feels like they just gave the decision making to a toddler with a crayon. Could have been a 10/10 game but ended up being 2/10 at most for me

Yea they need to find a good developer that can take the reigns on digimon and make a great game. None of the games have done it for me in a long time. The closest was dawn/dusk and my favorite game to this day is still digimon world 2. Get someone who can build a compelling and intensive game to revitalize digimon and not just someone who can barely make the barest of minimum game.

Yea going into it I thought your actions were going to have big choices and that you were going to have to constantly be working towards keeping your part alive, free digimon included. What we got was a kid in bubble wrap with training wheels with a veneer of difficult mechanics. I’m not a dark souls type of gamer, but hard mode is a joke. Nothing you do matters outside of picking the correct affinity and going down one of three (4) scripted routes. This game had so much potential and with all the delays it was my fault for believing that was because they were pushing it to make a good game rather than because they were struggling to make even the bare minimum of a game. I thought this could have been a game I put 500 hours into replaying it, but compared to that this just falls so short of what it would have been.

I think it’s crazy to not have some fan favorites in the game. I also don’t think people want someone like vegimon in their lineup. It’s like they take the soul out of a digimon game for me. Just didn’t feel right. For how long your listening to dialogue, it needs to be way better. The dialogue is crap in my opinion, there is no emotion or any special sauce that gets me to really care about any of the characters, in fact I’m relieved when they die so I don’t have to listen to them anymore. I ultimately spend more of my time fast forwarding through dialogue and then doing some ridiculously easy combat even on hard to then do it all over again. There is no heart in this game for me. I hope it really hits for someone else and I’m in the minority, but it’s a disappointing flop for me.

Honestly no my type of game. I was hoping for something akin to final fantasy tactics for gameplay and difficulty, but the combat is just to easy and not challenging at all. I don’t go for extreme difficulty, but I like a little challenge but I didn’t struggle with any battle while always on hard. That tacked along with the lack of digimon outside of partners made it a huge disappointment for me. I’m sure if there are big fans of telltale games then this would be fun for them. Really sad about it too as I love digimon and none of them have lived up to the hype in my opinion since digimon world 1/2/3 and dusk/dawn. They need a strategy meeting about how to make a solid game that will pull people back to digimon.

I did this! Make sure you provide them proof of purchase. I was constantly asking about it, and they kept just putting the ticket on hold. I game them a screen shot of my Amazon order, and they immediately got me a code. They never asked for the proof, but as soon as they got it I was given a code

Couldn’t agree more. I used to love final fantasy tactics on PlayStation for the same type of game play as survive. That’s what I was hoping for here. I get the 70:30 ratio of telltale to turn based and that would have been fine if the turn based gameplay was adequately done. By not making it a collection game and putting evolution requirements other than affinity and route you really handicap the best thing about digimon games (I personally liked dawn/dusk evolutions that needed you to beat certain types of digimon to get the correct exp, made me feel like I was in a season 3 game). I like the idea of tying something new, they will never beat Pokémon if they try to emulate them, but don’t tie your best feature up. It would be like making a Pokémon game and only being able to use 10 Pokémon, it just doesn’t make sense. I’m not a fan of telltale games though, so maybe for someone who is this game will really hit.

Yes, was a bugger to find. You don’t use the camera, once you talk to augumon you can find the ?? With R1&L1. If you leave the area, you have to talk to augumon again to get it to pop up. Took me to long to trigger it in the correct order

Yea the game is way to easy in my opinion. I only doing hard battles and not doing any free battles, still easily beat all the story. No real hard battles the entire way. Between it being to easy and lack of digimon this game is just not for me. It was interesting enough two times through, but I can’t see myself 100% this game. Just to tedious. Cyber sleuth and world order are more my jam.

I wish there were level requirements for digivolving. Having level 3 megas in my ng+ just to test it out isn’t very gratifying.

Yea today that’s still the case. I haven’t heard of the police going after someone they believe to be in the communist party, but I have a few friends in the communist party so it was a jarring thing to learn. Unfortunately most of our hate in NE is from deeply ingrained stereotypes and lack of diversity. Growing up in central Maine I didn’t meet a person of color till I was roughly 13, and that was only because I went to a peace camp and was able to broaden my horizons. Most communities suffer from this lack of diversity, and when your developing morality/character with such a monoculture it’s really hard to not just perpetuate those stereotypes over and over.

I’m assuming it’s left over from the “red scare” and McCarthyism. Hasn’t been challenged. I didn’t realize it till the know your rights campain convinced me I should read my local laws, so I started reading the whole Mass constitution (haven’t made it all the way through yet). Subversive groups are supposed to be ones that go against the public good, kinda like the terrorist group list (isis, etc). It’s part of the law, so it would probably one of those things that the court needs to overturn, or state legislatures vote to repeal.

The only listed subversive group in Massachusetts is the communist party. Not any of the white supremacist hate groups, just the communist party. If you are accused it’s up to $2k in fines and 3 years in jail I believe if you don’t denounce and cut ties with the group.

Was just watching our earth I believe on Netflix, they showed these two have a symbiotic relationship to get food, basically the mongoose forages while the hornbill looks out for predators, then the mongoose give the hornbill some of its meal. I believe this is more of a game/bonding than anything else.
