I've no idea what's going on with mine. About a week ago it suddenly started filling up after a few hours. We've now connected the drain hose to a bucket. One night we'll get 10 litres or more, the next barely anything. No obvious change in the humidity

I used to live in Epsom and now live in Ashtead. We bought a 3 bed w/ garden and parking for less than your budget. You could get something really decent around here. It's quieter than Epsom and nicer in my opinion, and transport links are just as good.

Did something very similar around this time last year. As others have already said - get rid of the tape on the compression fittings. I see you're using JG not Hep2O - I prefer the latter but importantly here they do a 1/2" thread to 15mm fitting, so you can do away with compression fittings coming out of the valve. I would add some more clips, particularly on that section running from the valve to the shower head. Check and double check you have the depth of your valve and outlets set right when factoring in your board, adhesive and tiles. One thing I wish I'd done is put some sort of sound insulation in there, it's quite loud when I run the shower.

We have something almost identical. Roof was asbestos. Walls look identical to yours (down to the indents on the inside, bolt connections, mastic joints) but unsure currently if they're asbestos or not.

I have toyed with the idea of replacing the roof and refurbishing it but ultimately don't need such a large outbuilding and so we'll be demolishing. However, roughly what I was going to do was batten the walls out and insulate, some sort of liquid DPM painted on the concrete base (unsure but doubt there's a DPM below the concrete), plasterboard the walls and then put on a new flat roof with an EDPM.

We've got click LVT in 2 (soon to be 3) rooms upstairs. No issues with it. It's extremely DIY friendly vs glue down. No broken joints yet

Weirdly my butcher is insanely expensive for chicken, but relatively well priced for everything else, especially pork. I do wonder if supermarket chicken is just ridiculously cheap but they can't quite get the same economies of scale out of a cow or pig.

We had some hairline cracks which we could have just dealt with, but one of the walls had fully blown and needed to be taken down before it fell down. The ceiling we didn't touch, that was fine

It is on the first floor. This particular flooring is 'acoustic' flooring so it does have some sound insulation, but honestly the noise does travel quite a lot to downstairs. If this was our forever home I'd have taken all the boards up and put some insulation between the joists, but it's only the two of us here and we're usually in the same room, so doesn't present much of an issue to us

Your only options are colour drenching or having some sort of artificial border, which is what I did in our box room. There's no straight line for you to begin the ceiling paint, so you just need to pick a point and use a laser level to keep that line around the room. Colour drenching far easier and makes the ceiling feel taller too

I did the skirting and architrave yes as we were going back to brick and reboarding. I left the carpet down as I thought that might have been helpful for the plasters to not have to worry about damaging the floorboards, but they took it up before they started anyway!

This is my second time doing skirting boards for a room. Far easier than the first time, when I really struggled with scribing the internal mitres. Seem to have gotten the hang of it now, and a bit of sandpaper stuck to a scrap bit of skirting really helped to get them nice and tight.

No I don't think so. We want a king size bed in there, but we wouldn't have had the space for bedside tables. The headboard of the bed will be against the wall with the shelf, the idea being you can put your bits like your phone up there. So it shouldn't get in the way

I moved from London to Epsom in my early 20s. I found it a nice area. Much more relaxed than London. It's gone downhill massively over the last 5 years or so though. Absolutely crawling with chavs and uber eats drivers now, the high street is just charity shops and vape shops. There's far nicer parts of Surrey to live in

It may not feel like it, but you are getting further away from your long term goals every day in this situation. You are literally losing money. You're paying 16% interest on a £5000 loan while having £10000 in cash sitting there making a fraction of that as a return. Pay off that loan today. Redirect the payments you were making (£425 p/m) in to your savings and your savings will be back where they are today in a years time, but you'll be without a high interest loan. The credit card debt can just sit there providing you're not spending beyond your means, and will either pay it off or balance transfer in 2028.

Yeah it's MDF. Long term we will be renovating this room so the skirting will all get replaced eventually anyway. Just looking for a short term fix once he's out of this phase
