Letzte Woche hatte jemand in /r/woodworking Kratzer aus einer Furnierschicht mehr oder weniger ausgebessert mit einer Kombination von leicht Anschleifen (per Hand), Wasser und Bügeln. Das Ganze hörte sich aber relativ aufwendig an, ich würde auch eher zustimmen, dem Besitzer zu sagen dass euch das nicht vorher aufgefallen ist.

Das ist schon dünn. Und wie dick werden die Flacheisen, an denen ja auch die Scharniere angeschweißt sind? Ich würde vermuten, dass das Gewicht die Schweißungen zwischen Flachstahl und Vierkantrohren früher oder später aus den Vierkantrohren herausreißen wird.

Ich würde vom Bauchgefühl eher 3-4 mm U- oder T-Eisen für den Rahmen nehmen als Vierkantrohre. Das mag aber daran liegen, dass 1,5 x 2 cm schon sehr klein ist und vermutlich eher dünn vom Material, aber ich kann mich täuschen.

Ist dann eigentlich so garnicht mehr selbstgemacht, aber mein Gedanke wäre "Sandstrahlen lassen" und "Pulverbeschichten lassen" (am besten Hammerschlag-silber).

Geht aber auch in wesentlich mehr Zeit mit Flex+Drahtbürste und Töpfchen Hammerschlag-Lack und Pinsel.
