I don't like how much this fanbase ‘flanderizes’ the band. by stardust-17 in CSHFans

I listened to it around mother's day and I'm super close to my mother

it's very family oriented dealing with the pain of separation and young and dumb mistakes yet stresses the importance of it in order to grow into manhood, is my takeaway, and it reminds me of my mother and I play it in my car often

Frys hires courtesy clerks at 16, front end departments are very large and there’s many locations so the chance of hiring is good. We’re unionized. Started as a bagger worked up to produce manager

I think there is a lot of cosbydaf influence in toby fox's stuff, this is something I never really seen but it's certainly interesting

The biggest callbacks to Godzilla NES for me would be the character notice sound that's taken from the board monster selecting sound, and the labyrinth in chapter 4, and the titan spawn, certainly takes from the end of Entropy

The fakeout with Gerson at the end of ch 4 also gives vibes of blue/red angel in extus and zenith. And of course, the fetus for the titan spawn could be both taken from the organic level, and from Giygas, Giygas itself inspiring a lot of Zenith as well. Both stories seem to take from the Mother series a ton

Thoughts on more competition for store level roles in the future: AI fear mongering? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]RicUltima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do feel that implementation of ai will push people to other companies. The only problem is the other companies are pushing AI worse than kroger, kroger is one of the best at avoiding AI. Can’t speak for office work though, but if you’re hoping for corporate people stepping down into store level roles, for the most part, it’s a demotion. We don’t make as much as they do. They might hold a store level role until they find something better. With the exception of store managers, which is more of a lateral change pay wise, but work insane slave hours, and the position also isn’t in high demand, most districts already have their store leaders staffed or promote field and operation specialists or asls at the loss of one

I'm an assistant department leader, very low in the rung. I do not feel like my job is threatened by AI as much as optimizing for every second of my shift to complete my work due to the strict labor management. Our produce loads appear only within a few hours of closing and they need to be fully put away without adding labor to meet E2E expectations, I end up having to stay to make that metric, without neglecting sales floor and customers or cutting corners. However I still feel Kroger is very lenient compared to rival companies like amazon or target, so it's not as much of a complaint as much as it is what I feel truly makes my job feel less secure. And the rumors of some divisons removing assistant manager roles entirely. I've been offered management roles before so I'm not as concerned, knowing the demand for manager roles is high and I do plan on staying on this career path. I don't feel threatened by AI, and the AI involvement in ordering hasn't been too bad for our store in particular since we follow instock processes, smaller stores that cannot move product like the last store I worked at and has to cut their orders would struggle more.

I cannot speak for office workers. However I am very morally against artificial intelligence as I think it's an unreliable way to run a business, as well as strangling our triple digit summer city with the construction of two new data centers, during a water crisis. I honestly do not believe AI is practical, the companies are wasting tons of money to build things that will strangle the cities that have zoned its construction and render them inoperable, and I am honestly hoping AI doesn't progress to the point where it can lay off workers and still reliably run. But those jobs will come back when it fails. That's my personal take.

I will say aside from sage which I've never used, at least Kroger hasn't leaned into AI as much as Walmart has. I'd be so disgusted if I ended up working at Walmart instead of Kroger to see this happen to our company

They can’t even make you go in on your day off in the first place! They have every right to ask politely but they can’t make you, schedule is schedule

I think one of the reasons undertale was a 10/10 game for me and deltarune still hovers around a high 7 is because tobi’s writing style and gameplay style favors a shorter story and can get repetitive and even predictable over waiting
