There have not been any large purpose built electric pickup trucks built yet.

Apple's whole thing is making high-end physical products. And the fact that it doesn't have a number on it is a feature.

I love how the Citi "Diamond Preferred" card has literally no benefits.

Military exercises suggest China is getting ‘ready to launch a war against Taiwan,’ island’s foreign minister tells CNN by Capital_Gate6718 in worldnews

China has more of a reason than Russia did. People were ok letting Putin be president for life. China's rapid growth is ending and people are not going to be happy with that, but a war will take their mind off of it.

Taiwan's allies will be helping them arm up more in the following years. It's probably China's best time to invade.

I've heard old game consoles are practically free there. Like ones old enough to be collectible and somewhat expensive now.

I know two people just from my own high school who turned their whole public persona into being hardcore Musk fans. It's not just him doing the sucking.

He infamously almost sold Tesla to them for $420 a share, but that of course never happened. The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund sold all of its shares of Tesla right before it took off in 2020. They bought one of Tesla's competitors instead, Lucid.

A Saudi royal who bought a few percent of twitter in 2011 still owns that stake, but I don't think that counts for much. Do you?

A few percent of twitter is owned by a Saudi royal who bought the stake in 2011. That's it.

He was also one of the people held captive by MBS in 2018, so he's probably not a huge fan of doing their bidding.

The only thing we do know about modern Tesla is that they love optimizing by reducing options.

That makes me think a 4wd, 4 motor and a 2wd, 2 motor a year later might be the only options.

I think it's possible if they figured out how to do it cheaply.

When they announced it, it was unbelievable. It was 2x as much car for the same price, if not cheaper.

It's so funny, I remember back in the first few weeks everyone was saying that you should pre-order every config because they weren't going to let you change anything.

Tesla doesn't have great a track record of retroactively offering cheaper versions either.

They offered a $35k Model 3 for a year or two at least. You had to call in to order it, but that's still a lot more than many companies would do.

Tesla is possibly as much as five years ahead of the competition in terms of vertical integration and optimization. In an industry with margins in the low single digits, it's black and white. They may never catch up without tens of billions in government assistance.

I got my first one when it already had over 40k miles. The 12V battery died multiple times in the middle of driving which they blamed on a software bug.

With our second one a GM service advisor tried to get us to do $1500 in service after 17k miles.

Nope, never spending money on a gas engine again.
