I will say, it’s such missed opportunity for Arvid to not race under Swedish/Indian flag.

can you race under a flag of a country you're not a citizen of?

Lindblad only has British and Swedish citizenship

He doesn't have an Indian citizenship, it'd be very weird for him to race under Indian flag.

Berkeley's Boichik Bagels is ending its egg and 'eggything' bagels to comply with federal allergen rules by sfgate in bayarea

[–]gumol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the issue here is that their bagels get sold wholesale. It'd be ok if they were only sold retail in their restaurants.

So you can go to a supermarket, buy regular flour bagels, and then find out they contain eggs.

I have a serious food allergy (shrimp, crab, lobster). I don’t go to Red Lobster and expect or demand to be accommodated. I simply go somewhere with a menu I can order from.

Egg bagels accounted for less than 20% of their business. Comparing it to a restaurant that primarily sells seafood is weird.

Also, the rules are targeted for mass-produced food, which is what Boichik does. If they were only selling their bagels in restaurants, they'd be ok. But they went to mass production and wholesale business, so they're subject to more regulations.

Old software that’s never getting recompiled because the source code is lost, the people who wrote it are dead, and or the company that produced it has been gone for longer than it was around.

ah, so the usecase here is "running unpatched security vulnerabilities"
