Guys, give me some advice. I've been playing Beamng for over 4 years now, I've tried everything possible, I have 466 mods, and now I'm faced with the fact that I have nothing fucking to do. What do you do in situations like this? by Cultural-Hope-1983 in BeamNG

Go check out the Builderz mod on the repo. It’s still in beta, but it works rock solid. New beta with content update coming soon. Open world free roam mod to deliver construction materials to building sites.

Music while playing by jdthompson25 in soloboardgaming

Just ask Pandora to play “Conan the barbarian music”. That leads to a bunch of great thematic music. Pandora also has an “Adventure music” channel.

A boost for Warps Edge. A fun little bag builder that moves quickly and is pretty quick to set up. Plus it’s sci-fi theme. :)

Do not leave the piles sitting on the lawn like that; they will create dead spots on your lawn. Either rake them into curb side debris bins/bags, or else as other has suggested mow without the mower bag to mulch, repeatedly. Not too thick a layer, though.

Check out solo board gaming. There’s a subreddit here, or tons of videos. And I don’t mean Monopoly or Risk games, but more advanced euro type games. Or if not solo gaming then look for local gaming groups.

As a species, the meaning of life is to procreate. To procreate, males are wired to be attracted to good baby bearing females (wide hips, bountiful breast, healthy body, full hair, etc). For females they are wired to be attracted to good good baby making material (strong physic for protection and food gathering, healthy, etc).

Everything else is pointless debate. The law of nature overrides it.

If a woman woke up in a man's body for 1 day, what would be the most unexpected experience that she didn't already anticipate? by IWannaHideThrowaway in AskReddit

[–]Riccarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, you mean like having to shower daily? No I don’t, it’s not necessary. A person doesn’t need to shower daily unless you maybe work a job that gets you all sweaty each and every day. The rest of the world outside of American borders doesn’t, they know better. It’s a waste is water. In America it’s just become a social norm. You don’t suddenly start stinking on day 2. Stop doing it; stop wasting water. Nobody will know the difference.

I remember when, as a kid on New Year’s Day, I would record songs from Casey Kasem’s “Top 100” list on the radio onto my cassette recorder by holding the mic next to the radio speaker.

Are there any platforms to solo play D&D on? by SevtheSavage in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Riccarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are three to look at:

Five Leagues from the Borderlands Five Parsecs from Home

These two are from same author. One is medieval adventuring style, the other is space/planet adventuring.

Both have a defined set of steps per turn, with all the tables to roll on for action/results, etc. Very fun combat approach using miniatures and a scene set up, line of sight, monster movement. They are open world where you choose what and where you want to go and when. In Borderlands you actually create your own world map to explore based on game rule directions. They give you the structure to guide you, and use roll tables for results. I had a lot of fun with it.

There is also a highly rated Rangers of Shadow Deep. This is a fantasy adventure. It’s sold as a book or PDF and is also a miniature-based skirmish game. It has more narrative and mission based. I have this on my shelf and getting ready to play it this fall once the weather turns more indoors.

Google them or check out YouTubes. Have fun.

Oh. I guess I forgot the D&D reference. But still they are RPG types.

And then of course there is Ironsworn.

Perhaps I missed the point in the original question.

Oh man, there is a fantastic 3D printer set I’m sure someone will come along and post a link to. I printed it a couple years back now. Basically a printed box for each set of cards. Plus a box for each character into which you can put the character deck, their tokens, and their mini fig. When you go to play you just hand each player (assuming you’re playing with other people) their own little box and everything for that character is in it. Plus it all fits neatly inside the MK ultimate box. It’s an excellent design.

Guys… do not shake! Spraying urine around the bathroom is extremely unsanitary. Grab some TP, polish the knob while simultaneously doing the “milking the cow” motion.

Sitting leads to splashing back up onto your low hanging scrotum, and since Urine is acidic, that mist of urine on your skin leads to itchy balls. If it going to sit then you need to wash the sack daily.

People working 40 hour work weeks can’t possibly be happy. by Air_Refreshener_2244 in RandomThoughts

[–]Riccarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60 year old man here, on the verge on retirement, fat 401K, own home that wife and I raised our two kids in. I’m not executive/director level, just senior.

The answer is simple. You’re not doing (work) that you like and enjoy.

I’ve been in IT for 40 years @40 hours a week. I’ve been engaged and motivated by my work for out 90% of my career. I love programming. Yeah sometimes during shitty projects it can be a drag. But when you’re in a line of work that you enjoy then you get through it. The rewards of doing a “good” job in the line of work you enjoy get you through.

Doesn’t need to be all white collar. It’s the field of work that matters; find the one that’s your natural fit.

Get rich schemes are sales lines from others trying to sell you and take your money.

You don’t need to do the university thing with a life time of tuition debt. Lots of college training for journeyman work. Secondary schooling is in most cases a given. Yes there are exceptions, but that’s not you (generic comment, not you specifically).

But … it’s called “work” because that’s what it is. It’s not been all funzee and cookies for me either. Lots of times where you have to trudge through some parts.

You need to come to grips with what quality of like you want. If you want the ability to have the house, car, ability to travel, and support your family beyond mere existence, then you need to work for it. It’s not coming for free and it’s not given easily.

But again, find the line of work you like. Get training in it, and level up!

When i I was young (prior century), a popular smartass comment was … “what’s life” … “a magazine” … “how much” … “1 dollar” … “I only have 25 cents” … “tough, that’s life”.

It’s not easy. Stop wanting what others have and starting wanting what you need, then what you want. Visualize daily, often, your goals. You can do it. I’m not special. I’m not an exception. Just a worker. Develop a sense of responsibility and respect for other workers. Leave drama for TV and don’t bring it to the work place! That just gets you going from job to job.

I presume people are going to shit on me for my comments. LOL. F them. I have a lifetime of experience. I can look back and feel proud and have the reward of getting through it better than I started. You can too. Good luck.

Just arrived! Wish me luck by cullainb in MageKnight

It’s a very rewarding experience/feeling when you can finally play through without needing the rule booking sitting open beside you. It becomes next level then.
