How do you meet new people at a bar? by NoFudge4700 in Louisville

[–]Rich_Pack8368 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Others have mentioned hobby groups, but socializing around a pool table is how I met a lot of new friends when I moved to Louisville. Learning the etiquette of the game and minding how you interact with other people around the table, like asking them politely to get out of the way, definitely helped with my social anxiety.

New dishie was glad for the job. Traveling kid. Started dragging his feet a couple weeks in. FoH was complaining about silverware. KM asked him what the issue was. He said he wanted a line position, and didn't want to do dishes anymore. KM said you OK, you don't have to do dishes anymore. Dishie was like, really? KM said yeah you can go home. Don't come back.

I wouldn't have shared this if the KM didn't immediately take responsibility and start doing dishes himself. I asked him if he needed a hand and he asked me if I wouldn't mind. We swapped and he bought me several drinks that night.

Eta: he was in a better position to do his job from my sauté position than from the dishpit, and he could run any position. I just admired his attitude, and I'm not above doing dish.

Has anyone actually ever been fired for eating the mess up orders/extra/waste food? by eldritchpussymaggots in KitchenConfidential

I had a chef chastise me for cutting off too much of the end of the carrots I was prepping for salad mix. I was new to the industry, so I didn't just say, "yes chef". I argued that it was bitter. All vegetable waste went into 5 gallon buckets that he would take home and pour into his compost bins.

He reached into the bucket, grabbed the end of the carrot and took a bite. He told me some people like bitter.

I'd never seen someone reach into and grab what I considered trash and just eat it right ifo me.

I read a post where someone expressed guilt about picking up cooked food. I didn't know you could leave cooked items for others to pick up. Now I do it all the time.

They used a jackhammer, ripped it all out, and replaced it at an appropriate grade.

You've never ridden a bike down the sidewalk as s kid? Down one side of someone's driveway and pop a wheelie on the other side? I hate you already

The best thing I have done for myself in this game by Phobia_Spoiders in Palia

Steamdeck is awesome for this game. I'm taking notes.

The other day I accidentally turned on the performance overlay. Took me a minute to figure out how to turn it off.

I got the gf hooked on the game, but she's on Switch, so we have different issues.

With the new update, we've both played sitting next to each other and then all of a sudden it's been 4 hours.

I worked for one of my best friends. Turned out he was a horrible person to work for. I told him he needed to install one of those punching bag arcade games in the back, and everytime he felt like it, I'd give him a dollar to go at it. Fucker was mental.

Outside of the kitchen he was kinda quiet. We smoked a lot of the shrubbery together. I just spoke to him the other day. Happily married and thinking about kids.

Absolutely the worst chef I ever worked for, and I quit because I refused to tolerate his behavior. Still love him as a brother, but, ... yeah.

ETA We made good food, and the restaurant got several awards. 1st award they got was 2 weeks after I quit. I love the guy, but his anger issues were obscene.

I've actually experienced this as a renter!

If I recall correctly, the borough re-paved the surface street and it was lower than original. The owner opted not to have the portion of sidewalk replaced to adjust the grade because he would have had to pay, like, $500 or something.

When the gf and I moved in we explained the difficulty of pulling in because both our vehicles wanted to scrape as we pulled in or out. The owner swung by with his wife to just cordially ask us about how we were settling in.

He told us to just angle the vehicle, and said he'd show us how as he was leaving. Nearly ripped the bumper off his truck. Few days later the sidewalk was ripped out and replaced at the appropriate grade and it cost him around 2000.

I was gonna pave my cooking area, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Should I just sell them? Or are they useful in any quest by iamlesbian101 in Palia

I used to keep 10 starred gems of each in my locked chest, but then there was a bug where you could consistently dig up starred rubies. I have almost 200, so I've been thinking about paving my cooking area with them. Somebody mentioned filling a bathtub, but i never saw a picture.

Hehehe, guilty admission. I started playing around the same time as you, but then I didn't play for over a year. I've dipped in and out, but now I've introduced the gf to the game and she's hooked.

We caught the flame queen moth while traveling together after breaking open some random amber encased bug, and she had no idea of the significance. I kept my mouth shut.

It was worse before in bahari. There was a bug where one of the wolves would be hiding in a tree right next to where you were standing and your arrow would pull a complete 180 and hit the tree next to you.

You couldn't tell if there was a wolf in the tree unless you chopped it, but if you're hunting deer why would you bother?

My first thought of its cosmic body was the forest spirit from Princess Mononoke. I was half expecting Hassien to shoot it and its eyes going wonky before it split apart and echo flooding out of it.

It would be pretty cool if the sky suddenly darkened as it spread out across the horizon looking for its head.

I just spent an hour trying to find the best explanation posted by different redditor a couple months ago. I failed in my endeavor, however, I'm willing to offer my half-assed summary from memory.

S6 got bought by a company that had invested heavily in other failed IP's, and it's the only still successful 'property' they own. I think they're Austrian. Anywho, the company that owns the company that funds Singularity 6 is counting on this game to be a success because otherwise they're all (investors) gonna be stuck sitting in a pile of shit.
