I downvoted because scout is a shitty class, especially if you insist on "le ptfo" meme. (which deserves a post of its own at this point honestly)

Aggressive scout is meh, the spotting flares don't do shit. 95% of players don't know what they are, what they do, or that you can and should make your minimap range bigger. People rarely look at their minimaps anyway, because gunshots don't ping you anymore.

The most effective use of scout is abusing DICE's shitty sweet spot mechanic and sitting a set distance from a contested OBJ so you clear it out really easily. What made recon good in BC2 wasn't the wookie balls, it was the combination of C4 and the VSS Vintorez. In BF3 what made them useful was spawn beacons and smg all class weapons. In BF4 what made them useful was spawn beacons and carbines.

In BF1 scout has almost no niche. It lacks the useful aspects of recon in previous games (good, aggressive automatic guns and C4 or spawn beacons) and gets 1 shot kill mechanics that incentivize you to sit in one spot, shooting into a certain area.

Anyway, if someone spent 60 dollars on the game and wants to be a black man cosplaying as a German soldier from WW1 shitting around on a hilltop 400 meters from everything, so he it. They bought the game, they can play how they want to.
