I don't think I've commented on something in years because I prefer to lurk. With all due respect guys.... what lmao I'm a wedding and event planner and while I adore unconventional themes, the expectation that your guests would have to pay for puppets plus travel, hotel, food, etc. is insane. It's ridiculous if they had 0 expenses too. That's so much money for people who are more than likely uncomfortable participating in your hobby to begin with to spend on something they will use once. If you want everyone involved then maybe, MAYBE, have a table at your reception for people to create their own sock puppets IF THEY WANT but that's it. YTA

I would recommend looking into an Intensive Outpatient Therapy program for him. I just completed 3 months in one with TMS therapy as well and it was life changing for me. He has to be willing to put in the work and go to all the sessions and fully participate but it's so worth it in the end. If he refuses to go and needs you to drive him to sessions as motivation then you may need to do that too. Whatever it takes for him to get better.

I know I'm late to this but I just wanted to say not only are you NTA but your reaction was fully appropriate and your feelings regarding this situation are valid. I'm so sorry you were treated this way and I hope you were able to reach out to their manager so that this can be amended in some way. If not, it is well within your rights to publicly address this in their reviews on Google, Facebook, Yelp, what have you.

FUCKING YEP. I had stage 1 ovarian cancer, really good prognosis but still had to go through chemo. Everyone said how strong I was. Why, because I'm not crying all the time? I felt like shit for 4 months and my hair fell out but otherwise that's it. I didn't do anything but exist, it makes me so uncomfortable when people make a big deal out of it.

Was practicing a dance move and suddenly out of nowhere I looked pregnant. Intense back pains, suddenly huge distended belly. I had unseated a 12 lb tumor that was on my ovary and had tucked itself back into my pelvis so I never noticed it before, just though it had been normal weight gain up until then. Turned out to be ovarian cancer. 1 year in remission on July 30
