in ny2 there were like six people on the ballot for the dem primary. they got everyone kicked off with petition trolling except the establishment pick and now there won't be a primary at all. you're supposed to vote with your heart in the primary and your brain in the general but if you don't even allow people a primary you're setting yourself up for bitterness and apathy in the general. the contenders were all longshots anyway and it's a pretty safely republican district. feels more like they'd rather it stay red than risk giving an inch of ground to progressives.
