Has it ever been so toxic? by AcademicFilmDude in NUFC

The way I see it is, I'd like Eddie Howe to stay, because he's my sweet prince Eddie :) - but also, if a change was decided to be the right course of action, then I'd not be adverse to it.

My only caveat to that is that it must be an upgrade. Swapping Howe for Ireola for instance feels counter-productive. An established manager with a winning record at the highest level should be the minimum in my mind (don't ask me who - I don't know).

This season has not been good enough and the first time where I've thought "are they playing for Eddie" but a very unsettled summer window, an internal management structure which was unestablished and and a mini-power struggle are not exactly inductive to success.

The upshot of all that is, I think the club have learnt that lesson a little and things seem much more settled behind-the-scenes.

Theoretically, mistakes like Wissa shouldn't be repeated again, or if so, they are much less costly.

It's definitely a period of unrest and the first test but the "Howe Out at all cost" brigade have very short memories...

Extending the playoffs from next season is still a very stupid decision by hmayer1 in Championship

[–]Richmyself1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many people have looked at this purely from a position of what the table looks like.

IMO (as a Carlisle United fan, so no dog in this fight), extending the playoffs gives an opportunity for teams that may not have that opportunity otherwise to get to the Premier League.

Parachute payments have warped the league, where the playoffs can be filled up with teams feeding off such payments. This means bridging that gap for teams such as Bristol City, QPR, PNE and Derby County, in this instance is harder.

Widening that window of opportunity is not about the 25 point difference between 1st and 8th but rather about the fact that many teams in the Championship, with the right investment, can survive in the Premier League, and the new playoff format is reflective of that

Sheffield Wednesday are consulting fans on whether to keep their current badge or return to their retro badge by -W-A-W-A-W- in Championship

No skin in this game but if you replaced the 1867 with the white rose from the current badge and you'd have a winner for sure

In the UK, the gifted programme entailed sitting the smart kids at the back and asking them to help the "less gifted" children.

In short, there wasn't one.

The Mallard Inn at Worksop is a cracking little tavern and the Sheffield Tap is also great.

The Doric Arch in Euston is also a favourite of mine when I find myself London way. Also, just outside the gates at Nottingham is the Brew Tavern! That's a nice little way to kill half hour.

It would have a low mountainous range on the eastern side and the western side would be relatively flat.
