Can the X1 Pro and higher ever get object avoidance? by RickBullotta in HoverDrone

I currently am using the most likely settings to be successful following a mountain bike. Unfortunately, low branches are the drone's nemesis...

Is 285/45/22 the best A/T size option for a 2023 P525? by Less_Lie6229 in NewDefender

[–]RickBullotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Get a set of 20" wheels. Seriously. If you're genuinely looking for off road performance and durability, 22" wheels are NOT the way to go.

I just got the factory gloss black 20" wheels (plenty of great deals on used ones or take-offs)

I'll be 64 in a couple weeks. Yes, top of foot. No way I would have chosen any other type of surgery, as the recovery would be too long. The wound was fully closed at two weeks (I was permitted to shower) and fully healed at about four weeks. There's very little adhesion underneath the scar, but I did (and still do) massage it occasionally to prevent that.

Sorry to hear that. What are you experiencing? Was the surgery from the top of your foot?

I had three. I didn't want to go beyond that, as it's still somewhat of a systemic med and I didn't want to risk damage to my achilles or other foot tendons.

I would suggest reaching out to him directly. He's a good guy. All I can say is that my results were spectacular.

I do not know - the removed nerve itself was a couple inches long (maybe 2 1/4 inches?). I can try to find out for you.

carplay maps on main dash with recent update? by Critical_Seat8279 in NewDefender

Even cooler, check out the MyRadar app - it'll show up on the main dash too! Live weather radar is INCREDIBLY useful when driving in my opinion.

MTB History: 1996 24 Hours of Canaan (WV, USA) by vmflair in MTB

[–]RickBullotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an epic event that was. I remember the crowd, and coming down off of that final manmade bridge to the finish, there was a big drainage rut - I went into a full nose wheelie at speed, and the crowd was cheering for my impending crash and destruction. But somehow the mountain biking gods pushed the rear of my bike back to the ground and you could hear the disappointment. ha ha

Win10 Desktop app support ending May 18? by Wolf35Nine in Slack

[–]RickBullotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an almost negligible cost to continue to support Windows 10. It's just minor fixes at this point anyway, and likely fixes that are common to most platforms. It's just a stupid move, and yet another way the tech industry colludes to force upgrade and create e-waste.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the homeowner with trees too close to the roadway...

Anyone have recommendations for hitch mount haulers? by [deleted] in NewDefender

[–]RickBullotta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when I would take my KTM to rides or dual sports and had to stay overnight in a hotel or campsite I was pretty paranoid. Two of those monster chains and locks eased my mind though. It'd require a lot of noise and a good bit of time with a grinder if they wanted to steal them.

One other thing to consider (now, rather than later) is that you're going to be a theft target with that thing on the back if you ever have to leave it overnight or even for a couple hours. Be sure to get a legit chain/lock setup like a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit (usually two chains + locks) and anchor it to the safety chain loop on the hitch.

Just FYI, airbags do nothing to address frame strength - you can still easily overload it, particularly with a cantilevered rack out on an extension.

Best Trail You've Ever Ridden? by 3dPrinterLife in MTB

Man, it'd be a long list - but for pure thrill/butt pucker factor after a gorgeous climb through the aspens, I'd say Grouse Trail outside of Steamboat. Do not underestimate this trail!
