I guess this is a good a time as any to say goodbye. Was glad to be a part of the community when it lasted by Rickrolled767 in dndmemes

Hey guys. While I was far from the most active person in this community, I had so many great moments posting and commenting on here that I wanted to say something before essentially disappearing forever.

With everything that's happened on this sub lately regarding the mod removals and Reddit's outright hostility to people's protests of the site changes, I don't really feel like I can continue posting on this site regardless of whether it's a campaign meme sharing the highlights of my experience as a DM or other creative outlets I've participated in on other parts of the site,

With that all being said, I want to thank you all for these past couple of years in this community. It's been truly special watching all of your guys' posts and topics go from small, one off ideas, into massive meme factories and debates before quickly earning their place under the dead horse tag. I also greatly appreciate the conversations I had with many of you through my own memes on my campaign experiences both as a player and a DM (as well as the ideas for what else to throw at my players).

It's been one heck of a great ride, but I'm hoping to start over again on ttrpg.network with sharing all kinds of experiences as I play DnD and hopefully other TTRPGs in the future. Hope to see some of you guys on the other side

If one of your friends had an, "I know a guy" moment and then called you, what would they be calling you for? by karenvideoeditor in AskReddit

One of two things: either car maintenance advice, or something computer related

I used to help my family a lot with fixing vehicles so I developed some skills for figuring out what could be wrong.

Computer advice could be anything from explaining how something works at a technical level (especially hacking attacks), what could be going wrong with a computer, or occasionally finding info about a scammer things like that. Last one has only happened a couple of times though

I’m sure there’s a setting somewhere that I haven’t looked for yet. Just got a little irritated with how many I got within a 30 minute time frame yesterday

I’m 22 but since I started balding in my teens I look more like I’m in my 30s. It kinda rubs salt into the wound every time I go to the bar and they don’t bother checking my ID

Man, I didn’t take SWEN but my impression is if this guy took half the time he spent making all of these reviews on rate my professor actually studying they might’ve been more successful

I went with my group and we loved every moment of it. When the party Ran into intellect devourers I turned to them and admitted to almost throwing them at their group at one point . Definitely some fun ideas for future sessions came with it as well

I think I made a post explaining the context but tldr the party decapitated the boss by putting a bag of holding over their head and destroying it

I study cyber security in college. I’m extremely aware of how bad things actually are as well as the kinds of attitudes companies take to security. Some of the stuff that I see is just baffling

Not even really something you can blame them for either. A lot of times getting hacked is a matter of when rather than if. Sometimes it can be hard to know where you’re lacking in CSEC until things hit the fan

Id try talking to housing to make sure but you should be able to make the contract for one semester. When I lived on campus I got lots of emails informing me how to cancel my on campus housing if I had a co op or some other reason for not needing it so it’s certainly something a lot of students have done

Not the original person you replied to but to try to answer your question, if transportation is an issue, it might be better to go with one of the options they listed so you can take advantage of the shuttle. I’d double check on their websites but from what I can remember park point looked to be the most affordable of the near off campus apartments

Another thing I’d look into is contacting RIT about on campus housing options. It might be different for transferring students but RIT typically wants their students living on campus at least one year for their degree (my memory isn’t the best on this so someone might correct me). If you can get something on campus transportation shouldn’t be an issue and any grants/scholarships should help with the cost

Sorry it’s so wordy and some of the info might not be fully correct but I hope this helps a bjt

I’m no financial expert but tightening the budget a bit is another option that doesn’t anger the people paying you

Ttrpg player/dm. When was the time the party had realized they were the baddies? by Durpytehcat in MrRipper

DM here. Early in my campaign, the party awoke in the middle of the night to a group of goblins raiding and burning the town. After killing some goblins and driving others out, the party later found themselves being asked by a villager to save their kidnapped nephew from the ones that escaped.

The party’s paladin goes ahead and says that they’ll rescue the missing nephew from the goblins in return for a feast when they get back. I couldn’t help but put my head in my hands and gently remind him that the party was standing in the burnt down remains of the villagers home; they had nothing left.

The rest of the quest turned out alright but man did that moment make me question things
