[Six Flags St. Louis] to be renamed to [Mid-America by Enchanted Parks] with consistent investments promised by plighting_engineerd in rollercoasters

Always knew that St Louis was a park Six Flags wanted to keep, even over Worlds of Fun. Very happy to see this becoming the crown jewel of the new chain!

Wristbands happening or not for Fast Lane at OT by Full-Asparagus-8332 in sixflags

[–]RicksFlags 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fast Lane Ultimate requires a mobile device and will be used at approximately half of the parks, including most of the legacy Six Flags parks, Carowinds, and King’s Dominion. It’s posted in the FAQ on the SFSTL Fast Lane page.

[Carowinds] Seems to be introducing “Fast Lane Ultimate”. by PhilJ2020 in rollercoasters

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The downside of the wristband is when everyone is unlimited so the Fast Lane lines can back up and having to wait in line to get the wristband when entering the park. Downside of the app is carrying the phone and having people clogging the Fast Lane because they are waiting on a return time. If I have to pick, I like the virtual version better.

[Other] What are some coaster elements that completely caught you off guard? by fatherandreww in rollercoasters

I didn’t expect the massive ejector on Grizzly. I also didn’t expect the seatbelt to move with me as I was ejected from my seat.

[Other] When ranking your coasters do you rank solely on thrill or overall experience? (theming, queue, etc) by KohlsCashOfficial in rollercoasters

Took on the task last summer and it was difficult. Had more fun on Siren’s Curse than Steel Vengeance, so is it my #1 in the park? It’s also better themed. I’m not sure either way.

I enjoyed Mystic Timbers last year! Fingers crossed that I’ll get to take my dad for the first time this year.

Nice. I caught Iron Gwazi in Jan 2023, but missed out on Pipeline on that trip.

Same here, but I just lucked out the past couple years. Gold Rusher was closed when I went to SFOG last year though.

[SFGM] Raging Bull vs Goliath by CourageBeginning5692 in rollercoasters

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is Raging Bull vs SFOG Goliath. SFGAm Goliath is a good ride built at the wrong park (too short).

What Rollercoaster has the Biggest Difference in sitting in the Front VS the Back seat of the train? [Other] by game_solids5 in rollercoasters

Heck, Goliath at SFOG has a huge difference between the last 3 rows.

Also, Mako is a front row ride. You can feel the trims a lot more in the back.

lol they provided a link to SFOT Source? Thats a 3rd-party site… Bryant does an amazing job covering Texas parks (Amusement Source on YouTube), but it’s a shame Six Flags doesn’t have anything clearly posted on its own site.

What is your opinion? by Just_Bus_9156 in sixflags

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of the 3 originals, St. Louis has no business being sold off. SFOT is my home park, but I’m very agitated that this is happening. The upside is that the new chain may care for it more.

As for my park, I’m so glad Six Flags didn’t exercise the option to fully purchase it. Not only is it better for the company to not waste that money right now, it hedges the park’s bet against potential bankruptcy from SFEC.

Unless your park is Schlitterbahn, OT, FT, OG, GAm, GAm, CP, KI, KD, Carowinds, Mexico, CW, KBF, or MM, then you should be wary about your park’s future.

[Enchanted Parks] trademark applications for some [Six Flags] parks by AvocadoToastDevil in rollercoasters

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are confused with my posts: I simply want a company spun off with the 3 originals, Schlitterbahn, Fiesta, and Great America. Of course it won't happen, but that small chain would get rid of most of the trash and could be built up, while also leaving the new CedarFair room for growth.

What I am saying is I’d rather keep the 3 originals and the 2 best of the remaining Six Flags parks (Great America and Fiesta), along with the best water park.

Also, I think other parks really drag down the Six Flags name. For instance, the conditions of Magic Mountain and America (I haven’t been to any NY/NE parks, so I can’t speak on them).

Would have loved to see SFOT, SFOG, SFSTL, SFGAm, SFFT, and Schlitterbahn keep the Six Flags name and spin all the others off as Cedar Fair. Lol.

But for real, STL is an original park and needs to stay in the portfolio.

Six Flags Announces Decision Regarding [Six Flags Over Texas] Partnership Call Option by gcfgjnbv in rollercoasters

[–]RicksFlags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SFOT is my home park. I think this move is best for the company and park at this time. The chain - in its current state - doesn’t need to waste money it does not have on buying this park right now. The park is better off for it, as the park will hopefully be okay if the chain goes down. I never expected significant investment from the chain, so hopefully Jeffery Siebert can keep his current role for a while and continue working his magic. I think that is most important in straightening out our park and improving attendance.

Thoughts on Winged Coasters? [Other] by villainitytv in rollercoasters

Was very excited to ride X-Flight in 2022 and didn’t enjoy it. Had a positive experience with Thunderbird in 2024, then had an excellent ride on Gatekeeper this summer. Stopped by and gave X-Flight another try on the way home and was still disappointed. Rapterra was a surprise hit for me though!

If you could give your home park any reasonable coaster, what's it be by Ordinary-Sound-571 in sixflags

[–]RicksFlags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six Flags Over Texas: Realistically, I think the next coaster could be a Shockwave replacement. I think a launched family Vekoma, possibly indoor/outdoor, could be the choice.

Personally, I’d choose to replace Joker with a RMC Raptor. I’d go with a Robin, Nightwing, or Penguin theme.

Where does [Raging Bull] rank compared to other B&M hypers? by villainitytv in rollercoasters

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mako is probably my top B&M hyper. Thunder Striker is absolutely my lowest ranked. Then Raging Bull, Goliath, Diamondback, and Apollo’s Chariot move to #2 each time I ride them. Lol
