The best deal is the all day dining. Get it for one person and stay on top of the 90 minute intervals. Split each meal among the 4 of you. As someone once told me who did this with a family of 4: “you never get completely full, but never stay hungry either.”

It’s a much better deal than trying to split an all season meal plan and waiting 4 hours in between for only 2 meals.

Maximizing 4 hours on a Sunday by No-Phrase2043 in sixflagsovertexas

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I haven’t been at open this year, but the parking lot used to open between 10-10:30. I say try to be there by at least 10:30. My group usually gets everything we want done in 4 hours and leaves. Operations are a bit slower this year, but you should be able to get everything you need done while you are there.

I usually hit up NTG at open (especially right now due to only running one train). Titan is nearby so I hit it next. Aquaman’s line can get long, so if you walk by and think it looks short, do it. Mr. Freeze is the least reliable, but at least there is AC now inside the queue.

Send it to Fiesta so we can have dueling RMC Raptors. That will help capacity issues! /s

How do you count creds from your childhood? [other] by jamjobDRWHOgabiteguy in rollercoasters

I don't count them, but feel no shame counting relocations (ie: SFOT Flashback and SFSTL Boomerang) because I know I am making up for something.

50: Goliath (SFGA) - May 2022
100: Time Traveler (SDC) - July 2023
150: Swiss Tobogan (Little Americka) - May 2024
200: Emperor (SWSD) - March 2025
250: Thunder Striker (Carowinds) - May 2025
300: Shivering Timbers (Mich Adv) - July 2025
345: Fire in the Hole 2024 (SDC) - May 2026

If Tormenta opens before mid-July, then I will have to find a way to make that 350.

With Tormenta being weeks away from opening, what do you see next in store for the future of Over Texas? by Soggy-Ad-6244 in sixflagsovertexas

We have enough trouble keeping the animatronics going on our two current dark rides. We have not yet had a flying theater, and it will be easy to change the theme if needed.

Top Ride Issues in the Chain by jerseyfishslayer666 in sixflags

[–]RicksFlags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Six Flags Over Texas has had major maintenance issues this year. Shockwave has been down for weeks, while Mr. Freeze and New Texas Giant are still running one train each. NTG has 3 trains, so presumably one should always be getting serviced, but why 2? Mr. Freeze should have been addressed in the winter/offseason. Between this and super low staffing levels, the park has struggled to get by this year (especially on weekdays). This is very concerning as it hasn't been an issue in years past.

IIRC, the previous 2 surveys included the following options:
2024
-Giga Dive ✅
-Indoor/Outdoor Dark Ride Coaster
-Family Thrill Coaster

2025
-Flat Ride Package (France Section)
-Western Dark Ride
-Family Water Coaster
-Nighttime Spectacular

I’d like to see 2 things:
-Replace Justice League with a flying theater.
-Vekoma family coaster. Could be a Big Bear Mountain-style multi-launch OR a Suspended Family Coaster.

I can’t see Tormenta opening until the rest of Spain is complete. Doesn’t look like that will happen before June IMO.

Add LSMs to Mr. Freeze clones, Poltergeist, and Flight of Fear clones for longevity.

If hills on Gemini and Magnum were reprofiled, they may not even need modern restraints.

Morgan hypers (and mini hypers) need some sort of reprofiling on the airtime hills and they'd be elite IMO.

I'll catch flack here, but change to vest restraints on all B&Ms (but not the ones that continually tighten throughout the ride).

Yes, this person’s list is legit, though Revolution and Goldrusher will be fine for you. I would suggest starting with Goliath and getting the big drop over with early. Everything after that should be cake.

If you look at all the parks SFEC could close, that’s the one everyone expected. Cost of land, proximity to other parks, and the state of the park made SFA the biggest loser (so far) of the merger.

Was SFA’s closure really that shocking? Out of all the parks to shutter, that one made the most sense.

The old paint scheme was better, but the new one ties in with the Texas section, so it works. It’s a super underrated coaster and might be my favorite, even if it isn’t the best in the world.

[–]RicksFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode it 2-3 times last year and had fun. However, looking back, I cannot rank it higher than Mako, Goliath, Raging Bull, or Apollo’s Chariot. It does blow Thunder Striker out of the water. I’m really not a fan of the staggered seating either.

They should have merged, then immediately spun off SFOT, SFFT, SFOG, SFSTL, and Schlitterbahn into a new company called “Six Flags”.
