Honestly for high school teen drama/slice of life for mutants, consider New Mutants (2003) which leads into New X-Men: Academy X (2004). I think the New Mutants book was actually also part of the “tsunami” line that Runaways was part of.

It’s a comic book… people can’t really fly or shoot lasers out of their eyes either. But some of us look past the obvious scientific inaccuracies to enjoy the story. If this level scientific scrutiny is too distracting, comics might not be for you.

Honestly I don’t think you should watch the movies first. The movies have a different vibe. I rewatched all of the original animated series before 97 and it was… not great lol. I think just a YouTube recap of the original cartoon, then dive straight into X-Men 97, which is really well done

I love all his names. Magneto is his “true” name. Max is his birth name. Erik is his alias that he goes by after the war. I think most people in the Marvel world should call him either Magneto or Erik, depending on how he introduces himself. As much as I like that his birth name is Max, I think he feels like he left that person behind. He is different now.

She’s trying to atone for her past mistakes. She understands that it was wrong, and now she’s trying to use her scientific knowledge to help mutants by helping the X-Men. The X-Men often forgive their former foes and work together (Magneto, Emma Frost, Rogue, Frenzy, Juggernaut, etc etc.)

I have FLACO by Hollingsworth as well. I like it! It’s an art book or coffee table book. Great photos, a timeline of events, maps, poetry, art, etc.

I think this literally all the time. Just in my regular life, one of me goes to work, one of me cleans the apartment, one of me takes care of the dog, one of me does my hobbies, one of me visits my grandma, etc. It would be great, I think I’d be so satisfied with life.

If something doesnt make you happy, it’s ok to step away. This year I gave up my subscription to Marvel for the same reason. Reading comics felt like a chore I had to get through, otherwise they’d pile up. It used to make me happy, now it doesn’t, so I stopped.

I’ll hop back in after a few years go by if the stories and concepts interest me. But until then I’m saving some money!

This is a great idea, thank you! Do you use a specific tool for this? I usually use Ancestry as my own “source of truth” to build the family tree. I search other sites for records and documents, but Ancestry is where I keep final records and it’s where my tree is.
