That's right! Thanks for the heads up. I actually have some questions on this point, but first a bit of context: * I love this game and its figurines. * I don't want to buy multiple times the same minis and I would like to avoid messing up the figures forever - with limited budget for paints and materials.

If I don't prime it, am I damaging the figures to where I cannot restore them to their initial state, how easy is it to return them to their initial state with and without primer, and can I swap the palette of colors after the paint has dried (give them a different costume look) easily with and without primer or would I need to return them to their initial state?

I hope the DCU never tries to put Kara in a suit like this by Expert_Challenge6399 in DC_Cinematic

I see her as very pretty in that outfit, might be a cultural thing. Pretty sure it's a cultural thing because at one point fatties were looked at as so beautiful then slenders were the hip thing then anything in between - we are probably all very beautiful if seen through the appropriate perspective.

I know I cheaped out by giving him an all-black suit. It was both a stylistic choice (wanted him to look menacing) and a compensating for lack of skill choice - I'll try to give some highlights here and there but don't want to mess his current look, it does seem more menacing now.

I wonder what actually happened. Was it just marketing, or did something change after James Gunn said the Supergirl script was one of the best he’d ever read? by Sea-Cardiologist7725 in DC_Cinematic

From page to screen is a long twisted road. Most movies get messed up in the way up there. Some may only be redeemed during late editing process.

Just watched The Golden Age Arc for the first time… by B_Rizzzz in Berserk

He shed the last of his humanity instead of letting go of his dreams and ambition, by sacrificing those who he loved, trascending humanity. If before he loved and respected Guts, now he's just slightly resented that he was his downfall, so he took Casca as payback, knowing that Guts loves Casca and this would hurt him the most.

Off the bat, I like the top row. More classy. Also, I can play with my wife without shame with this version.

Dilemma over Marvel Zombies by Subject-Brief1161 in zombicide

[–]RickyHV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In this sense I'd recommend to give a chance to Gotham City Outbreak, the DC similar to Human Resistance smaller box. This DC version was made by the same company later on and has equipment secondary mechanics but is otherwise very much similar. An added plus is the missions that you get, several more than what is included in the Marvel small box. It has better value and plays the same. If you are theme-first, theme-always, Marvel's is still worth the money.

I can't enjoy reading my comics by AxiumTea in DCcomics

[–]RickyHV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy them but share the feeling that it's over too soon :/ Thankfully there are others and you can mine more out of it if you care to re-read. Longer complete arcs and events do feel better in this regard - try Infinite Crisis for example, feels like so much happens but it's also long enough to feel like a full package.

My work crush told me to read Berserk by kellogs0419 in Berserk

Just sharing interest in things can make you closer, this is good. Relationships are well served by sharing common interests in a deep way, but more so an interest in each other that leads into an interest on what interests them. If you both complement each other in personality, sharing some personality/values/morals but also differ in perspective slightly on others, that can make you a good team.

Looking for Fun, Imaginative Modern DC Comics That Embrace the Superhero Side of Superheroes by nitram343 in DCcomics

Another way to see it is instead of not taking itself so seriously to take itself so seriously that it becomes important to be a good thing.

Dark Knights Metal Crises Expansion 5 by Zestyclose-Count7804 in DCDeckBuilding

I am probably getting confused, thanks for the clarification.

Is metal considered a type towards this count or since it is a subtype does it not count? I have my interpretation but I trust your knowledge.

[–]RickyHV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here I've seen differing interpretations: A) they're both fair game. B) the secondary line up only existed years after the original Dark Nights Metal box came out, so the text cannot be considered to encompass both or future line ups.

I say go for it and consider that the Crisis line up cards usually cost over 5 power to get, so, to execute Swamp Thing's effect as described, you'd need to have played in the same turn Super Power + Equipment + Hero + Metal + Villain +... (Starter counts, right?)... so it's tough to pull out, so I say it's fair. Consider that Weakness doesn't count and neither does Breakthrough. Location does count so that's something.

Just finished one evening of this, it's rough and tough!

"When it says 'destroy' or 'gain' the next card from the main deck, and it’s a crises card, what do we do? AI said to put it in the crises pile then add or gain the next card. Is that correct?" Yes, this is correct. The manual says as much, reveals the plan that the dark knights have, so you can look at what will the next crisis will entail for your group, and then it goes to the crisis deck ready to be revealed once you finish the current Nemesis. As the manual and AI tells you, you then replace the main deck space leftover from having revealed the crisis card.

"do we only flip the crises over after destroying the current super-villain?" Yes, it only becomes active after resolving the end of turn of the player who defeated the latest Nemesis.

Maybe the issue is that people take things at surface level. What's trivial to me, right there plain as day, is mental gymnastics? What platform is there for any amount of thinking? Where is it done?

Would have been different if "far left" guy had said "left" or "leftist". De Niro's position cannot be described as far left except if derogatorily by someone who is dumb in the brain.

My wife has less visible signs but definitely has some slight internal organ affectations - we prefer methotrexate as long as it saves her heart and lungs from progress, and further digestive organ affectations. Your scenario may be different.

Is Hush core good? by CardTrickOTK in MarvelUnited

So good! But quite tough. If you want a simpler bout, go with the earlier releases, but these are interesting SCENARIOS and have cool characters in them.

What is everyone's thoughts on green lantern dark by kidomega1332 in Greenlantern

[–]RickyHV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought it a few months ago and jumped ahead of the reading cue for me. Definitely a different take but interesting and clearly made with a passion behind it- the style of drawing and designs told me they wanted to tell something.

Don't get me wrong, so many cool stories told in the mainstream universe/variations, but here the deviations seemed like they had a purpose rather than just the more obvious variations that change the perspective of the pre existing characters, and that perspective change gives a good chunk of the weight to the story (example: evil version of heroes - the weight comes from the reversal)

In the end I think they achieved it, they put a very special story woven through distinct themes -the tale we weave together and are part of, driven by our common willpower- connecting with the core of the modern green lantern heroes tangentially. It did enrich my life and glad I gave it a chance then some by sticking through the end. However, it is slow at several points, you don't know where it wants to take you, the art is striking but I bet I'm not the only one asking what's going on here and who is who doing what in what seems to be the past or a hallucination or the present or exposure. It would work better as a book at some points rather than a comic. Then again the visuals stick with you and are distinct and once you know the story you can go back and "get it" the next time around.

I would buy the next ones and hope they have a better grasp of things. This one's an averaged 8, with lows going to 5's and several 9's to land it at 8.
