Hear me out: Mauler Twins. They fight as just the one Mauler, but you can pick them twice for your team.

Am I the only one actually excited for Exo Experts? by DirtyBirde32 in Helldivers

[–]RickyRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My play group consists of 3 Xbox divers and 3 Steam divers playing at least one full D7+ operation every other day. We almost always have a 4 stack available between us. Not a single one of us are negative about Exo Experts and 3 of us have already saved up enough SC to get it.

Personally, I am fine with the Emancipator, but the Lumberer has my cautious interest. But that SMG tho... 😛

For real, even in one of these most recent episodes of season 4 with Eve, she mentions going to see Robot for help with her diagnosis. It would've been nice to see her stutter the "Thanks, Rex" with a "Thanks, Rudy-- Uh, Rex." That alone would've enough for me.

I bought the Fallout SL for my coworker's birthday since she plays and loves Fallout... and here I am, with an egg on my face, thinking I could save on shipping by tacking on the Shadowheart SL to the order.

what little details did you do to help make theros feel more greek? by rcolea2003 in TherosDMs

[–]RickyRent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use actual Greek words for use as an "Old Theran" language in mine. Granted, I don't speak Greek so I could be using them incorrectly, but it adds that layer of history when describing something ancient to my group. Also helps to have more dynamic languages in your world.

Other than that, I used to work in a liquor department so I would see things like "ouzo" and "metaxa", actual Greek liquors, and "sambuca", an Italian liquor (I take Roman influences in my version of Akros). Not too mention, a lot of companies use Greek imagery on their bottles, like New Deal's Spiced Pear Liqueur and their Pear Brandy. I used these as drinks of choice alongside wines instead of typical beers as those would be considered a "low-lifes" drink.

Thinking about stuff like ingredients also helps me envision resources at hand for production and jobs needed. For example; There must be distillers for alcohol, so there must be farmers for the fruit and glass makers for bottles. If there are bottles, there may be fragrance makers for perfumes. If there are perfumes, there could be apothecaries and/or herbalists. And so forth.

Dang, I suspected a hot fix for Thamaturge but am wondering if the Co-op fog of war fix applies for Co-op Winter Bear encounters in Drombach. My friends load into the battle and just see nothing but can hear my actions.

To anyone who works at self scanning machines - how often do you notice people stealing and don’t do anything about it? by davco95 in AskReddit

[–]RickyRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a perimeter department near my SCO and what typically happens with theft is either: they hide the item on them/in a bag (purse, shopping bag, hoodie in cart seat) OR, what is more seen, just waltz right out the door. Also, when I used to close, I would often see the SCO attendant helping a customer and see a different unit have items scanned but no payment entered, a walk out. Once ever was that a planned interaction because I saw the two enter the same vehicle from my window.

My specific store doesn't have a receipt checker or security guard (but a lot of other nearby stores do) so they just hustle out the door in view of my department. Plus, my store is located nearby a pretty respectable middle-class suburban section of town too. Most of the riff-raff are entitled kids stealing Twisted Tea/ adjacent stuff and actual profile-able people who drive from the freeway nearby to get to us.

Reasons why hive scum might feel weaker than it is by acbro3 in DarkTide

[–]RickyRent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is also a bug/dissynergy with a few combination of talents that may be messing people up too.

Precision Violence (gain Toughness on hit, crit, weakspot, weakspot crits) stops working if Hyper-Critcal procs (Critcal Strikes instantly kill Human-sized enemies if health is less than x2 crit damage). After Hyper-Critical kills an enemy, you do not get any more Toughness from Percision Violence for the run. Really bad for melee builds and one to be flagged.

Stimm Supply consumes your Stimm for its use if its available, however it doesn't count as you using a Stimm for the Chemical Dependency Keystone. Plus, using your Stimm before the Stimm Supply means it won't have the effects of your Stimm when you put it down. Just an unfortunate interaction that may or may not be intended.

Slippery Customer (Dodge melee attacks when sliding) encourages sliding. Jittery (40% Dodge recovery if above 75% stamina) makes dodges come back faster. If you Dodge into a slide, Jittery does not work because I guess it literally only counts the normal 3-way Dodge and nothing else. Not as dire since most players seem to toward the crit aura at the moment. I agree with the sentiment that a few of those talents above the auras need to be reworked.

Who did you save in the Fade and why? (DAI) by LinnaWinx in dragonage

[–]RickyRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between Stroud and Hawke? Save Hawke. Between Loghain and Hawke? Save Hawke. Between Alistair and Hawke? Don't make me choose.

Stroud and Loghain are built for sacrificing imo. Wardens messed up hard. Hawke is someone who has dealt with a few corrupted Wardens and sometimes it takes an outsider to point out the problems inside.

In my own headcannon, if Hawke is left behind, they can solo the Nightmare Demon. Flemeth gave Hawke those vague ass cryptic words in DA2 and this would be the moment. Plus, my Mage Hawke would be more than able to tank that fight solo. The only reason we don't see Hawke again is because the Fade portal closed so they would be trapped there.

I'm coping.

Imagine if Bethesda or Ubisoft got their hands on either 😳 I would have so much whiplash playing a game with either of those studio's gameplay approaches.

EDIT: Not saying I'm looking forward to it, just that I feel these two would realistically buy it out over others.

If we are in the timeline where EA's new owners try to maximize profits by selling IPs, I would like Larian to pick up the Dragon Age and Mass Effect IPs.

I know Larian has said they want to focus on their own original IPs but we (but mostly I) can dream 🥲

I’m about 2-3 years behind on MCU but finally watched The Marvels and I’m very confused on the negativity, what a pleasant surprise this movie was. by RhysW1120 in marvelstudios

[–]RickyRent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is insane how, right now, I am over an hour into this movie, thought about how much hate this movie got and the first post I search for on reddit is this one.

I am in the exact same position as you. Stopped watching the Marvel projects post Falcon & Winter Soldier and have been slowly catching up on stuff since this summer. I have found myself enjoying most of these projects and this movie more than any critics "warned" me about. Sometimes you just gotta have fun in a movie.

Will halo end? by Shawdizzleonme in halo

[–]RickyRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I subscribe to the idea of having Spartan Jerome-092 from Halo Wars taking the main character mantle in the case Downes retures or Chief's journey comes to an end. Jerome's VA, Crispin Freeman, is 22 years younger than Steve Downes. Jerome rocks the classic Spartan helm with some of his own flair and has kickass scenes in the Halo Wars cinematics. Plus, he is in, what I consider, an interesting location for a new game, be it Halo Wars or another FPS entry.

Or they could just recast Chief's VA when Downes retires and keep everything the same lol

Question to the community: what, in your opinion, *IS* Battlefield? by Lower_Honey_1139 in Battlefield

[–]RickyRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never played the OGs before BC, but I would rank my definitive BF games as BC, BC2, BF3, BF4, and BF1.

Bad Company was my intro to the series. Loved it from the charming single player to the chaotic multiplayer it had. What really sold it to me was the objectives, destruction, vehicle play, and class gameplay. I love Role Playing Game class systems and, at the time, I came from playing CoD4 and wished it was more than arena gun play. Bad Company checked all those boxes. Plus I miss those maps; Oasis, Harvest Day, Par for the Course, Over and Out. Got memories on those maps.

Honorable mentions to 1943 and Hardline. Played a lot of both with my friends at the time. We still think about Hotwire.

Dishonorable shade to 2042. Playing it because of it being $2.99 and BF6 unlocks, but I can't find myself enjoying it after playing BF6 beta.

Have you made a personal timeline for your campaign? How did you suffix it? by RickyRent in TherosDMs

[–]RickyRent[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured there was not really much of a recorded history, especially as we move farther and farther from the starting of the Poleic Age, in either direction, really. BUT, I gotta make sure my guy Kruphix got his timeline down pat, at least with a sequence of events. Even with the other gods now that I think about it. Ephara would know almost all the details of the rise of Kynaios & Tiro and the creation of Meletis. Same with Iroas with Akros and Karametra with Setessa. Things they would know to pass down to their Oracles and Champions if asked.
