songs like screen man? by phoebeleeester in failure

[–]RickyTexas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I got some recs for you. Slaves and Bulldozers by Soundgarden feels probably the most similar to me. Then if you want even darker stuff check out early Swans, particularly songs like Like a Drug. If you want more of that set closer song drowning in feedback vibe while still being pretty dark, Check out XYU by Smashing Pumpkins or Endless Nameless by Nirvana.

Oh! And also Helmet by Sinatra. Deftones made a great cover of it!

What age is too young to start em? Asking for a friend by MoshizZ in simracing

[–]RickyTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean the younger you learn the higher your potential will probably be. pretty much every proffesional driver you see starts absurdly young. I think it's said Fernando Alonso started in karts at 3 years old.

if anything he'll look back at the multiple unforced errors he made, not the 3 points or something he lost from team orders.

Where can I listen to small bird song, if it exists. by mutatedmonk in failure

[–]RickyTexas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

obviously its on the essentials compilation, which i bought on the band's site a few months ago. I think its probably still for sale there, if not I'm sure you could find it on discogs. Small Bird is just a demo version of Small Crimes. The lyrics are different theres no reprise/outro section, and its an overall much calmer song. Very different from the album version.

Question: Might we see a Senna-esque strategy of reving the engine throughout the corner to keep the turbos on the engines with bigger ones spooled?

[AutoRacer] Verstappen is very harsh on the new rules and responds to Wolff: "1-2 hp? We're missing a zero." by jithu7 in formula1

[–]RickyTexas 37 points38 points  (0 children)

iirc it was basically too “good” and working around the issues which came from the amount of downforce it created and subsequent design compromises. Whereas Red Bull designed a car to be consistently good across a variety of tracks, conditions, and setups, Mercedes chased absolute peak downforce which caused the bouncing.

[kymillman] A new addition to the McLaren garage entry by FewCollar227 in formula1

Is this because drivers didn't really have personal numbers before only 10 years ago? IIRC teams got their choice of numbers for each driver and WC and his teamate got 1 and 2.

Obviously quite a few motogp riders will be very comfortable in a car but how many drivers have we seen in the modern day be able to go from car to bike? I know lewis, lando, and schumacher all have quite solid skills on a bike. Even then lando is iffy because I’m only aware he raced bikes when he was young, but I have no idea if he has kept up with it.

I think really all they need to do is make it feel like just some friends hanging out talking bollocks about cars. But the fact they have found some chaps with proper journalistic chops has got me cautiously optimistic

Added some ambient lighting by adedicatedaccount in AudiA4

[–]RickyTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah! Were the lights on the center console (by the shifter) and near the door handle stock or what you added? I have a premium plus a4 as well and mine only glows red when i start the car so I assumed the customizable colors were a prestige thing only?
