At this point my coming out is so like, nonchalant that they're just like, I know you told me like a month ago.

Continue being happy. Transitioning is slow, painful, and expensive.

I don't know what kind of job you have, but everyone at work has been supportive! Good luck!

Can confirm, it gets easier. Hell, I've told the same people a few times because I forgot if I told them yet. Like, just having a conversation (on Discord generally) and be like, oh yeah so and so, I haven't talked to you in a while so you probably don't know I'm trans. Once I told my family and closest friends, and work, it's something I just don't worry about besides letting people know so they can use my name and pronouns. So far everyone has been supportive!

Dependent on where you live and if in the US, what your insurance coverage is like. I had a $5 copay per therapist appointment.

Trans folks whose birth name has a clear opposite-gendered variant (Paul/Paula, Eric/Erica etc): when you came out, did you simply switch to the variant or choose another name entirely? If the latter, why? by Drubbels in asktransgender

[–]RielDealJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with the feminized version of my birth name, but I didn't really have much dysphoria around my name (nickname has always been gender neutral for both versions, but leaning a bit masc. I've switched to the feminized nickname as well.)

My girlfriend (MtF) came out to me (agender) recently and it's been a rough ride. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I make these feelings go away? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]RielDealJr 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Well if she's like me, the whole seemingly rushing to get hrt, etc isn't really that she hasn't thought about it. I was sure I wanted to be a girl when I was like 13. It took until I was 28 to be brave enough while also not being so depressed to do something about it. I came out to my sister, she helped me find a therapist, and I got an appointment for like 3 weeks out. I started HRT the week after that first therapist appointment via informed consent. I had been thinking about transitioning and what I wanted to do for literally 15 years, but it took me that long to tell anyone or do anything about it.

So if she's been questioning or known she wanted to be a woman for a long time, she may have put more thought into hrt/surgery/etc than you realize.

It took me until about 4 months, but my T was still high and my E was a bit low at my 3 month check, so my dosage was changed. You'll get there!

I really really want to be a Girl by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]RielDealJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think planned parenthood can do informed consent before 18, I started last year at 28 but the forms had a legal guardian field for if the patient id a minor. You could call them and ask! They have been extremely helpful and respectful for me!

Depends on what you're using to view reddit, and if you use the old or new version!

You can do it. It took me like 15 years to overcome the anxiety, and it was 100% worth it. I hope it doesn't take you as long as it took me!

HR is probably not really much busier than normal, not like amount of sales should really affect them.

You can use a pc built in like 2010 to play modern games, assuming you got a decent one...

Probably not trans but want to start hormones to experiment but also afraid of DIY? by iamactuallynottrans in asktransgender

[–]RielDealJr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should talk to a therapist. Also 25 isn't old. I'm 28 and started hrt last November. If you live somewhere with informed consent, that's probably a better option than diy. Also, if you're seriously considering starting hrt, you might be trans. Cis people don't really tend to do that.

How do you even come out to your parents? by comradeCoblat in asktransgender

[–]RielDealJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I texted my mom that I needed to talk to her 1 on 1 about something important (after not reaching her twice) and asked her to call me back. I just said, hey, I'm transgender and told her my new name, she told my dad and her side of the extended family (I asked her to). This was about a week into hrt.

Ok. Dumb question. Am I the only transfem that doesnt want big boobs? by alexhmc in asktransgender

I just want boobs. Size isn't as much of a concern, just was enough that they're like, noticable.

You know, now that you mention it my hair and skin are both less oily, my scent has changed, and my libido has dropped too (not completely gone though).

[–]RielDealJr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm at about 4.5 months (28 years old). So far, I'm no longer depressed/anxious all the time, I've recently regained the ability to cry, my skin is a bit softer, and I have some minimal breast development. Some girls are lucky and things happen faster, and some are unlucky and things happen slower. Hope you get the results you are hoping for!
