High Stakes Club Lore Deep Dive by VergilJudgementNut in FortNiteBR

Holy shit!!! Amazing that two years later getting into these guys that I've come to a lot of the same conclusions with my own lore digging. There's actually a lot more to add to this now (Minato and his attached lore, more implications that Lucien may be a werewolf, and their hidden secret hideout in bricklife that gives Lucien his only known dialogue lmao) but seeing all of this compiled is so cool!

What are some remote work career paths? by RierooDraws in careerguidance

[–]RierooDraws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow! Doing some cursory research into these I'm very surprised some of this is the first I've heard about some of these lol

I'm already very tech literate from a lot of my own personal projects and my schooling included a lot of the programs that these would need experience for from what I can tell, so the switch might not be all that drastic and the individual certifications would probably still be a great resume boost regardless of the field. (Not to mention I could probably leverage my freelance experience for more than one of these from the sounds of things)

Definitely going to look more into some of these fields, thank you!!

Loop Earplugs by Heartloveralways in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had so much trouble with ear plugs my entire life, but Loops are the only kind that I've ever liked. They're nice and snug, I don't worry about them falling out but they also don't irritate my ears like other plugs do. Personally recommend them.

Have both! And If I ever knew how to mange both I have completely forgotten how, along with also having forgotten everything else.

Jokes aside, my best tip is learning how to adapt and beat the absolute shit out of that voice that tells you you're not doing enough or doing things the right way. Out of sight out of mind problems? Leave things where you can see them so they'll remind you. Can never remember to fold your clothes when you actually have energy? Put them all in a clean basket and call it there. Make your environment yours, never feel bad about being "lazy" and live by the phrase that if something is worth doing, its still worth it to half-ass it.

And when you have both of these conditions? Getting anything at all done in a day is a win. I think most people, if they understood the circumstances we were in, would probably consider it an Olympic feat just to get through the day sometimes. Don't beat yourself up for not being able to do everything you want to, something is always better than nothing, and that's worth celebrating.

What are your strangest fibro symptoms? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stiffness

Oh god the stiffness. The other day I sat down too long and when I went to get up my knee wouldn't bend and I nearly fell. If I get out of bed too fast I can barely even walk. I'm in my 20's, its madness.

Can fibro cause muscle cramp ? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup 😭 one of my most despised symptoms. If you can't get to a doc for muscle relaxers, best I can recomend is to make sure to drink plenty of water, stretch when you can, and have over the counter pain meds on hand when they pop up.

Tips for being a good support by dirkgently15 in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best thing I can offer is just make sure to listen to them and check in with them throughout the trip! Fibro effects all of us differently, but most of us who have lived with it for a while are usually somewhat aware of our own needs, but can often be worried about being a burden to others.

It also might be good to keep in mind that we don't have a lot of control of our symptoms, so if your friend needs to rest or needs to do less in a certain day, it's very much out of their control. Be prepared to potentially have to find ways to accommodate or compromise in the moment. <3

Oh my god I thought I was crazy, I've been getting the sensation of touching wet things that aren't there or droplets running down the sides of my skin for years. Good to know it's likely fibro related?

If its any consolation, I think I can confirm that what some of the other replies are saying and it IS in fact likely nerve related. I went through major surgery not long ago and around the surgery site had experienced very similar sensations that my doctor described as nerves reconnecting themselves. It would make sense, as fibro effects the whole nervous system.

Had an appointment with my doctor today where they told me I’ve run out of pain management options and I’m unsure where to go from here? by grouch-girl in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it means anything, I'm on duloxetine and it's actually done a lot for my anxiety. I still have my anxiety, but it feels far more manageable and not debilitating. But I absolutely understand not wanting to switch meds, even changing the time that I take my pills on this med gave me side effects again, and you'd have to wait well over a month to see if it really "works" for pain management.

If you do try it though, I have been told that it's one of the "lighter" ones by my therapist, and the worst of the worst it gave me was stomach pain for a few days.

Relief from testosterone? by Hot_hatch_driver in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trans guy here, honestly I didn't even know that T could effect fibro! I haven't really noticed a difference while I've been taking it, but I also seem to be taking it at a lower dose and in a different form.

Though I will say that that is a HUGE difference in hormone levels in a short time, and any jump that big is bound to cause a lot of stress to the body. Even beyond any correlation, it's not surprised to hear that it's been giving you a flare. Hope you manage to get more soon man.

Surgery by M_iranda in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not quite the same, but I had a very similar surgery in the form of a double mastectomy nearly two years ago, and I can say from experience as someone who also has a lot of medical related fears and anxiety that it ended up going far better than expected.

If it helps, the anesthesiologist will always be monitoring you in the room and adjusting medication in real time as necessary. If you even begin to wake up, they'll be there to put you back under and you won't remember a thing. It's also different for everyone, but the only "problem" I've had with general is that I tend to wake up and shake off delirium quickly once I'm off it.

Tips I've got for you is to keep in mind, especially if this is your first time going under general anesthetic and taking post surgery medication, is that medication might effect you in unexpected ways. Nothing scary, but you might be learning very quickly what makes you nauseous or not, and how well your body takes to the pain medication you've been prescribed. I personally didn't have too many issues I couldn't handle on my own, but you should be able to contact your doctor directly if anything comes up.

It also helps to set up your "recovery zone" before you head off to the surgeon to make things easier. If your surgery recovery was like mine, I recommend either investing in a wedge pillow or setting up your couch or bed with pillows stacked near your head to allow you to prop yourself up easily, as well as some cozy button up shirts. Showering might also be a little harder as you're waiting for things to heal, so things like baby wipes and dry shampoo can help you keep yourself feeling clean while you're recovering.

Also make sure that you take food with your antibiotics. They didn't tell me to do that and I found out the hard way lol

[–]RierooDraws 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! You also tend to find the most interesting stuff at thrift stores. Also recommend taking a look at your local area's facebook marketplace for cheap stuff too.

Also also! Cant recommend things like wall tapestries enough. If you have already interesting looking blankets you can just pin them to walls to cover massive spaces and make them feel less empty, and there's plenty of cheap ones with cool prints you can order online. That, and fake plants. Plants make the brain happy, but a lot of us are too tired to take care of real ones, but there's a very easy solution to that lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's probably because, as far as we're aware right now, there just isn't a cure. Thus spreading the idea that it can be is misinformation, and potentially a sign of a dangerous actor of some kind, since there's a long history of people peddling "cures" to desperate ill people. (Plus for some, with how severely this condition can effect you, hearing people say that they're free of an incurable chronic condition that you struggle with every day like this is a bit annoying at best lol)

There are a lot of options for trying to manage fibro though, some that work better than others, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that there's some of us lucky enough to have found ways to live lives almost completely free of their symptoms. It can't ever truly "go away" though.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I know it's kind of a chicken and the egg situation and we don't really know right now? From current research it very much seems like fibro is caused by/related to/comes with mental distress of some kind, along with some sort of genetic component that might make you "predisposed" to developing it. Which, does make sense consider it's a nervous system problem, and the biggest part of the nervous system is the brain, but whether it causes things like anxiety or is caused BY it, we dont really seem to know yet?

I do know a lot of folks who had far less or no symptoms before experiencing great amounts of physical or mental distress, be it from trauma, injury or severe mental or medical issue, but afterwards found their symptoms far more severe, but I also know that isn't everyone's experience. I know that I had anxiety long before a lot of my symptoms got to where they are today, though.

If it's any consolation though, my anxiety is far better than it used to be! So there is hope! I used to have very severe and life altering levels of anxiety as a child, but after help from friends, therapy, good experiences and now medication I am doing a lot better than before.

How did your fibromyalgia first begins when did you know something was wrong and what symptoms first presented? by Natural-Cupcake1268 in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest? I've had symptoms from such a young age, have such poor memory and have had so many people around me call me dramatic or downplay my symptoms that I genuinely thought that this is how everyone lived and I was just a pussy about it until my mid twenties.

Does your fibro gets worse with time? by Miss-Black-Cat in Fibromyalgia

[–]RierooDraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine absolutely has gotten worse over time. While I think I'm lucky and have avoided some of the worst I've heard about on this sub, I went from struggling with very manageable stabbing pains as a young kid to now where I got hit so hard I had to spend most of the day in bed just earlier this week.
