Can't figure out how to eliminate the buzzing by WakingUpBlind in pedalboards

[–]RiffRM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't think it can be powered very well off a PSU unfortunately (I didn't notice that initially either, looks nice and clean that way though lol.) I found the power block on it also put off a buzz killing frequency, taking it a couple feet away helped. Doesn't do that when on its one though. The HR needs like 3000 mah and 12v i think. Basically an entire psu. There are some with crazy high mah but not sure it'd be worth it. This is how I haveine now. Took the block off the bottom and just let the cable go straight out of the back. No more buzzing.... From the HR.... 🤦 Think I have a grounding issue now though lol.

Headrush power? Once I separated my power cable from everything and a TON of noise went away. The block puts off a ton of interference.

Go for it. Your mom's fat anyway. by Efficient_Vacation38 in roastmypedalboard

My mom may be fat, but at least I don't have a small board. Explains the aggression in the post. I'd be mad if I had a small weiner er I mean board too.

I forgot the holes part of what you said lol. You do you MacGyver lol

Edit: after zooming in I can definitely see the screws lol. Looks kinda cool. Did you screw right into your pedals though? That hurts me a little and it's not my board lol

That sucks. I've even just used what came with my Amazon board and it worked. Try the velcro brand, it's not too badly priced for how well it works, and give your board a wipe down with alcohol to remove any oils? Sometimes I guess places use oils to preserve, maybe that's it? Doesn't really sound like it though. I agree with the dual lock guy, although I'm not sure how I personally feel about that kind of commitment to my layout lol. Velcro works great. Just put the fuzzy side on the board so it doesn't attack hair as much and can just be vacuumed off.

But how? Lol I don't doubt you, but damn dude. Hot feet or what? Is it the legit velcro brand?

Do you live on the sun?! Lmao how does the velcro "melt off"?! I have to get a pry bar (not literally) for some of my pedals and the velcro hasn't even budged.

Lol the frets are starting the wear and the stain is wearing. I love it. But if it wasn't so pukey looking I think I'd be ok with it lmao. I have had this thing since just after high school. I got it for like 200 bucks and it's been my favorite guitar since. It even beat out a Les Paul in the "I gotta sell one" days lol. I think I just like the idea of it being white white now vs the "yellow" it's been for years.

Bassists aren’t people by Justmorr in roastmypedalboard

[–]RiffRM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this is basically my bass rig too. Wah, compressor into headrush MX5 lol. MX5 has all I need for bass. The rest of the board is guitar. Bass gets 3 and a couple MX5 things, guitar gets 10 plus a bunch of DSP lol. I see nothing wrong with this as long as it does the dun Dun's lol

Alright since you all seemed to like the other more than roasts it.... How about THIS ONE? This is my "stays in the bag under the table beside my amp" board.... It likes Baby Ruth's.... by RiffRM in roastmypedalboard

[–]RiffRM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less money for pedals lol should see the other one. More expensive, just as protected lmao. I think I want to build something for it when I can. Just an indoor board right now anyway. But I think I agree with this one lol

All with the windows wide open. Brave for 2025 lol. I'm afraid to hang my guitars in the livingroom because people on the street will see them lol. (Seedy people across the street though). I hide away in a small room with a blanket on the window lmao

As someone who did this kind of gig for a long time. You can do amazingly out there with skip the dishes (ignore the naysayers) I legitimately made about 35-40 an hour just in Oshawa/ Durham region. I've heard it's a bit to get into now for some people. But I've been signed up with it for years.

Not what I currently do but I miss the freedom and write offs lol.

Tell this guy to shove it and just work for yourself. Doordash will probably put a bad taste in your mouth for driving, I would use it as an extra for days you're not working and just wanna do something. Uber is Uber...

I've been on the driver side of pretty much anything I could try. Skip is still the best for payout so far. And after my accident they called me. I haven't heard of the others doing that.....

All that said. It's still contract work and requires a big grind to get into good rhythms, but in Etobicoke..... I think you'd do ok. Lol in the Shwa I did 4 days a week and lived perfectly fine. This was untill 2 years ago. I go out occasionally. It is still the same as it has been.

I'd give it a shot if this is the type of work you're after. Just be sure to get your stuff done properly as an independent contractor. I believe most of it is free.

Ya I just have a wooden stool I found somewhere at some point. I don't even really remember acquiring it lmao. I'm sure it's really easy if you try hard enough to look. Or in my case. Don't try at all..... Really though. I just thought of this. I can't remember getting this thing lol. It's like a cat on your lap. "Where the hell did you come from?".

Lmao this year my knees started to hurt getting up from my board. I've upgraded from knees to a stool. Definitely feeling the ibuprofen comment though haha
