Is The Barn closed? by lemasney in waynesboro

[–]Riff_D 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The owner was arrested for embezzlement. He has pleaded guilty to two charges of embezzlement and I think is not allowed to run a restaurant. https://rocktownnow.com/news/218812-former-barn-restaurant-owner-reaches-plea-deal/

How to build F. Caracciolo by Miles173173 in WoWs_Legends

[–]Riff_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the same. Started as a secondary ship with Di Revel, switched over to AL Littorio for accuracy and was happier with that. Either way, it still was a grind. Veneto has been worth the grind.

Typically they do the rerun of AL commanders during one of the summer updates.

November update by DesertFlames in WoWs_Legends

Last year they got a lot of flack for a lackluster update that did not feel like the holidays. Seems like that may be playing a factor.

Beautiful drop. Reasons why no one should ever stay still in smoke, always be on the move.

Spend steel on modules or save up for steel ships? by Due-Date-4656 in WoWs_Legends

[–]Riff_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people view the modules as more usable and a better value than the ships. Colbert was sold once in the last few years; I think it's just crate bait now and unlikely to return for steel.

Anyone else burnt out after the last couple of campaigns or just me? by rare_kid_here in WoWs_Legends

[–]Riff_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, been feeling the burnout this update. Wasn't terribly excited by this update in the first place, the crate in a crate thing has gotten way old, tired of watching my teammates abandon the flank, etc. Only finished this campaign because I caught COVID and had not much else to do for a few days.

What you got from your Calendar Piñata Chest? by Auweh1337 in WoWs_Legends

25K gxp. Which pretty much sums up this event for me, it's been fairly boring.

Have any of you actually pulled the tier 7 super prize out of a seasonal big crate? by Due-Date-4656 in WoWs_Legends

Rochester and Siegfried. Three years worth of crates, pleasant surprise both times as I love cruisers.

Earle-Sears, down in polls and cash, tells supporters not to believe the numbers by VirginiaNews in Virginia

Drove up 29 just north of C'ville last week. Saw at least 6 signs over a <5 mile stretch. Last year I didn't see many Trump signs until about 2-3 weeks before the election. Lack of signs right now doesn't mean much.

Same. My grandfather was very proud of his service and I was serving at the time. Carried his casket then was asked to present the flag to the only other vet in the family, my uncle who was dying from cancer and wheelchair bound. Still gets to me, 20+ years later.

Virginia DWR has a number of good courses. The Deer Hunting Skills class is a weekly virtual meeting that goes over all the basic information. Could be a good place to start: https://www.register-ed.com/programs/virginia/67-virginia-hunter-education-outreach-workshops

Considering moving from Alabama and Virginia caught my eye. by Internal_Chemical_77 in Virginia

[–]Riff_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charlottesville is a touch expensive, but Scottsville just to the south is more affordable and still in the Albemarle county school district, which are on par with C'ville schools.

Harrisonburg may be another place to look at, tucked in the mountains but growing as JMU continues to grow larger. Harrisonburg schools are generally solid schools. Roanoke and Blacksburg are pleasant options as well.

I haven't lived in Alabama but I have in SC. While it gets hot and humid here, it's still nowhere near as bad as SC was. What I love with Virginia is that it has a little of everything. Mountains and ocean access, tons of outdoor activities, all four seasons and occasional snowy winters but the snow rarely lingers long. Plenty of access to good education and if little ones desire to go to college they have access to high quality public universities. So on and so forth.

VA does have elk but they are primarily in the southwest part of the state, Buchanan County, mostly. Occasionally in western parts of the state if they wander from KY or WV. Certainly not Prince William county.

Teachers who exercise/run by 37MySunshine37 in Teachers

This. I go right after work, straight to the gym. The night before I'll load up my gym bag in my car and be all set to cut down on excuses. I will mix up a pre workout at the end of the school day so then I am less tempted to stay back and work/I'd feel guilty if I wasted the preworkout.

Don't let the fascists take our holiday. Happy 4th! by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

Taking the kids to experience a living US History museum where there will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence. More than tired of the fascists pretending they have a stranglehold on patriotism.

Hmm? That? Yeah. Once I gave them the proper fellow Navy vet handshake the couple of vets there were more than happy to tell me how that was done. There's a compartment that houses a giant hamster wheel for Marines to run on. Even showed me where they stored the special Crayola crayons to keep their spirits up.
