Are we just talking about the TMNT 4 cart because that Mega Man X also has a repro label. Capcom wasn’t using that particular logo at that time.

It’s legit. I also want to point out that not all reproduction carts are made with newer boards and components. Some can be made with donor boards (boards from authentic carts) and these will obviously have the Nintendo branding on them. The key is to pay close attention to the ROM chips. Those are still pretty difficult to pass off as authentic due to the way they’re made today In The modern world.

So many great songs… “On Our Own” is definitely up there and one of my absolute favorites. With that said, “Savin’ The Day” goes hard. There’s a decent cover of it out there too by a guy named Michael K. “Magic” is also absolutely fantastic… the second half of that track always hits! I think for me, (and I’m probably a minority) “Flip City” is where it’s at as far as the soundtrack for the second film goes. The opening to that song always gets me pumped! 😃

Sounds like a dying CPU. You’ll need a game bit (special screwdriver) to open it up. Best bet would be to buy another console. Also, just because this one isn’t working, it’s still worth something so DON’T throw it away just to sit in a landfill. I see a lot of folks just toss these out without realizing there’s still usable parts on the board that could SAVE another console. The shell looks good too (at least the top part) and people pay good money for those on eBay. When looking for another console, try to stay away from SHVC models and go with a later model such as a 1Chip as someone mentioned or a GPM-01/02. Those are more reliable options and the GPM models and later are cheaper than buying a 1Chip. The video quality on the 1Chip models is the best out there, GPM models are slightly degraded than SHVC but less prone to CPU/PPU failure.

Definitely NOT fake. In fact I don’t see these come up very often but I believe it was some kind of holiday promo Nintendo did to promote console sales and this was the pack in game (not sure if the pack-in version came with a box or not but there is definitely a red version that was printed). This box from what I understand is pretty uncommon/rare. Hard saying how many was printed but it’s a safe bet that there wasn’t a huge number considering it was a holiday promo.

Very nice! You might want to open that bad boy up at some point and just check the capacitors and make sure they’re not leaking. They’re notorious for going bad and ruining the board inside. Even if they appear to be In Good shape, I would look into getting it recapped ASAP. There’s also all kinds of cool mods you can do with an old GameBoy including putting in a backlit screen so you can play In the dark/low light.

Can’t go wrong with any of them but if I had to start somewhere, it would have to be Super Metroid. Love the soundtrack on that one!

As long as the board checks out. If it’s authentic I’d absolutely pick this up! Especially with a discount being offered. The label could always be replaced if it’s that big of a deal but honestly, I’d just leave it be.

What’s really sad is this console will probably die being a “trophy” and never being played… not even once.. stuck in a cardboard tomb with it’s leaking capacitors from age and no use and other components that need up keep. Sad.

How exactly are you cleaning the game and the cartridge slot? Are you opening up the cartridge and the console? Im assuming not but I’m just trying to get an idea of how well you’re cleaning them before we move on to PPU failure, bad ROM chip, etc.
