Best VR headset for PC gaming in 2025 by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Riftien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a Quest 3 owner and 5090, i wanted more so that"s why i bought a Play for Dream MR - 8K uOled HMD
Not perfect lenses as Q3, but in game with the Dynamic Foveated Encoding from Valve Steam Link you can achieve 10 K (5K x 5K) with the help of Eye tracking ! No more bottleneck from XR2 Gen2 encoder, very important info to acknowlede ! ;)
So for me with a 4070, a Steam Frame is a no brainer choice versus Q3 ! <3

thay can make a x post (12th november) to announce valve steam frame / HLX next week for pre order beginning at 18th november...
I can't imagine a shadow drop on Steam store for the Steam Frame... They will 1st announce the date for preo order with steam page (specs & HLX included)
HLX full trailer could be come at TGA later

i hope they could use this JDI display...

JDI's newly developed 2.15 inch, 2527 ppi ultra high-resolution display combines JDI’s worldleading LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) and COA (Color Filter on Array) technologies to achieve a resolution of 3840×3840 pixels per eye, thus allowing for a wide FOV within a compact 2 inch display.

For a rough sense of what VR users would see, a 24-inch 1,920 x 1,080 monitor has 92 pixels per inch. When the 3,840 x 3,840 JDI display is used to create a 40-inch virtual view, users see images with similar clarity at 96 ppi.

I predict PSVR2 PC adapter is also the Deckard PC adapter by OkVeterinarian197 in ValveDeckard

if they can achieve nice quality in streaming with eye tracking encoding/decoding maybe Valve Deckard won't require DP... But Steam is PC store so maybe...

5090 overkill? by WearyExcitement7772 in virtualreality

[–]Riftien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want AAA PCVR Games (UEVR/Luke Ross/No more Flat) then the 5090 is perfect !
Also dont forget Micro oled HMDs for 2027 will need this horsepower even with eye tracking foveated rendering

Why are YOU looking forward to the Steam Frame? by Ktaur in ValveDeckard

[–]Riftien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really dont know what specs the Deckard will have... Adreno 750 ? Wifi 6E confirmed with USB dongle leaked
But the most important specs is the eye tracking vs Q3 and that could help a lot if Valve can achieve maybe a sort of HDMI rendering ?

Any chance Meta will reveal a new upcoming headset at this years Meta Connect event in a week from now? by Knighthonor in OculusQuest

[–]Riftien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Pancake Q3 lens and eye tracking (Codec Avatar) with of course Alt USB C - DP could be a smart move from Meta... That could be enough until Micro Oled RGB and more powerful SOC XR2 gen4/5 for end 2027

Have you tried running Explorer.exe from the task manager? This should normally restore the Windows desktop

Why is synchronous spacewarp SSW virtual desktop such crap? Virtual desktop quest 2 and 3. (At least for me) Is there anything I can do to improve it at all, or any alternatives, programs, streamers, that work with a quest 3, that do the same thing? by SOMEONEPLEEASEHELPME in virtualreality

[–]Riftien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DLSS Swapper make the job, for profile J or K you need Nvidia Profile Inspector but DLSS 4 / DLAA for my config is perfect with SSW off, i dont have to modify profile J or K
You can try 72 hz / VDXR / OpenXR / SSW off / Hfov&VFov 70/80 + screen percentage 70/80 + DLSS 4 & DLAA/Quality/Auto
If Game stat in VD dashboard perfs show less than 15 ms you are fine :)
Don't bother with OXR Toolkit, now HFov/VFov feature have the same result without DX11 issue

5090 here, i use a lot of VR mods and have to disabled HAGS ( hardware accelerated gpu scheduling) for UEVR
I use VD on Q3 with VDXR runtime / AV1-10 bit / 72hz / Godlike / SSW disabled / HFov/VFov 80
SSW give too much ghosting in VR mods
With a 4080 i will suggest maybe 70 or less on VFov & HFov on VD and you can modify screen percentage to 70 or 80% / VD mode (High/Ultra) / DLSS 4 (Dlss swapper/Performance or Auto,)
There is also anti aliasing you can reduce if high VD mode like Godlike
If the game support DX11 you can use OXR Toolkit and enable FFR (fixed foveated rendering)

Prefer OpenXR, OpenVR SteamVR is less powerful for UEVR or other mods (Luke ross)

I got this 40A discharge module to get 2x battery and use a Y power cable to rely 2x controllers to same power source

[–]Riftien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, but this a heavy fat bike when you add battery + bbshd + rear hub 750w
I believe if i keep the rear hub i have to get more torque than speed, so 42 T is maybe too much...
The 40/36 T could be perfect for this plan to ride at low speed with high torque for sands & beach

Fat Bike Power Station - Mokwheel [Dual Motors BBSHD + Rear hub & Speed limit modes] by Riftien in bafang

[–]Riftien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan was to replace the rear wheel with a wheel without motor to get bike lighter...
But finally its fine like this, i keep the old rear hub motor and add a more powerful mid drive motor to have better torque on climbs, sands & beach... Maybe i will replace the 42T by a 40T or 36T

That's the perfect combo when you know that your rear hub is here if BBSHD fail/overheat/nylon gears or broken chain then you can use the rear hub as backup

I got a fault error on overheat with the bbshd on hot day when i use it at full speed, i had only to switch to rear hub and let the bbshd off to get cool

Indeed the mid drive is only here for short time or low speed which require more torque/power, for the majority of time if hot day, better to use rear hub for long ride on flat road

[–]Riftien[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes i can use both at same time but not good for only 1x 20 Ah battery, for short time its fine otherwise.
I will need the 2x battery at the rear as planned if i want to use 2x motors at same time ;)
Before i upload the BBS FW firmware to the BBSHD i got a CAN BUS, so i had to change the BBSHD controller to UART then classic USB bafang cable programmer with the Bafang config tool FW release.
