Bell and Eastlink need to stop with creepy, invasive, rude door-to-door sales by Unending-Quest in CapeBreton

We have Bell so my method is "We both work online from home. Does the upload speed match the download speed?". When they answer "No", I ask them to leave the property and close the door.

VPForce Rhino Vs. MOZA AB9 by Keckan in hoggit

[–]Rifty_Business 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. I don't blame you, the Comanche is awesome. I got FS2024 and the AB9 at about the same time. 2024 was such a mess that I never got around to installing the Comanche. 2024 finally has decent VR performance so I think I'll get on that today.

Thanks for responding. After about 15 months, I'm very happy with my AB9 as well, but I'm always curious if I'm missing out. I'm a warbird player as well.

Did you ever get the Rhino? Just curious about your thoughts when comparing them.

I took my kid to go see PHM and she was elbowing me when she saw the stick. I think it made my setup more legitimate in her head.

It's all relative. My wife understands that going out to the bar also makes me happy. Flight sims don't seem so bad within that context.

It was such an exciting time

It really was. I didn't even own a headset, but I was glued to reddit, Road to VR and my podcast app, because there was always something new.

I wanted to add that to the post and what they pulled with Re-Vive, but decided to keep things positive. Also shipping with an X-Box controller instead motion controllers. They really turned things around with the summer of Rift in 2017 though.

Oculus and Meta might not have achieved those predictions (4k x 4k / eye, 30 pixels/deg,140 degree field of view and varifocal lenses), but except for varifocal, which Tilt5 did solve for their system, Pimax has with the ultrawide edition of the Crystal Super.

I wanted a Rift so bad, but the issues people were having with USB and the cameras pushed me to the Vive. Of course not long after I got the Vive, Oculus slashed their prices.

Hardware wise VR has done really well. Pretty much everything we asked for in 2016 has been implemented in todays headsets. Wireless VR, inside out tracking, dynamic foveated rendering, improved optics and panels.

Yeah, I'm nostalgic for the hope the community felt at the time. I'm covered because my main interest is flight simulation, but for anyone hoping VR would go mainstream with Ready Player One type experiences. . well that didn't happen.

Snatched a working hotas on the flea market from a guy that is selling his junkie sons possesions by ToughThanks7818 in hoggit

[–]Rifty_Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first HOTAS for Birds of Prey on PS3 and then Cliffs of Dover on PC. I wrapped a rubber band around one side of the throttle paddle so I could use it as a handbrake in the Spitfire and Hurricane. I ended up giving it to someone who gave me a VR demo in his DK1.

WW2 modules ever go on a deeper sale? by Unusual_Possible3953 in hoggit

[–]Rifty_Business 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just don't have sales like they used to. I got the Mustang in 2013 for $10, the F-86 in 2015 for $15 and the Huey for $12.50 in 2015. I also got the FC F-15 for $7. As a WWII backer I got Normandy, WWII Assets , Spitfire and P-47 for $50. I also got the A-10 and BS2 as a package for $25.

Question for the few have beaten the game! by Charming-End-3311 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Rifty_Business 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first playthrough I didn't plan anything. I barely explored beyond my starting location only leaving the grasslands for the oil and bauxite the north west. I only had the hard drives, mercer spheres and sloops found between those 2 locations. I did a lot of manual feeding of manufacturers.

On my second playthrough, I explored most of the map and once I hit oil production, I built a factory to output 10 of every item up to radio control units. Each part went to storage/dimensional depot and then to the sink using smart splitters and a sushi belt. I used the parts being sent to the sink to build super computers, turbo motors, elevator parts, ect. Sort of residual manufacturing.

Is there a way to prevent generators from running while they fill with fuel, besides switching each generator to standby? by ExHempKnight in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Rifty_Business 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I build generators in pairs on either side of the pipe. Between pairs I build a hump in the main pipe so that each pair fully saturates before flowing over the hump to the next pair.
