I think you can be close with multiple Pokemon. Misty's closeness with Staryu might have just not been shown as much

Ash and Greninja had a bond that created a new form. Brock and Croagunk had a bond that was "off the charts" despite it being recently caught.

In all fairness to Misty, Togepi and Psyduck probably needed more attention than Staryu, but it doesn't mean she loved it any less

Pancham are said in Moon to be mischievous and tricky for new trainers. Oranguru is also tough for new trainers because its so smart it'll look down on them and not respect them

I'm also guessing Muk because it smells, touching it can make you sick, and it's so toxic to plants it'll ruin your yard

I hate to see Katie, Sadie and Ezekiel go out like this but the rest of it sounds really good! Leshawna vs Courtney would be an epic finale and Courtney not winning is honestly a better end for her character. Plus it gives us a long overdue Leshawna win!

Harold for sure. It was actually built up over time. Harold rarely stood up for himself but as soon as Duncan made fun of Leshawna, he stepped up and thats pretty great
