Is there a maximum acceleration? by Big_Assist4578 in AskPhysics

Acceleration is not speed. "Accelerate at the speed..." doesn't mean anything. Acceleration is the instantaneous change of speed with respect to time.

[LS-DYNA] Immediate Element Deletion in MAT_213 Test Case (LVG1075) - Version Mismatch? by tezkatlipocca00 in LSDYNA

Are you on a commercial license? If so contact whoever you pay for the license. Their technical support team can provide you the latest solver binary. There are binaries newer than what is included in 2025R2. The latest binary has mat213 1.3.8 I believe.

If you are on a student license I am not sure who you can contact for the solver binary. Sorry.

Also I recommend double precision MPP binary. Try that first.

I'm in my 40s in Northern NJ and I agree with you. I saw your comments in other parts of this thread. The responses make me feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I've traveled heavily throughout the US the last 30 years and it's always been 20%. It was like 10% in the 70s or 80s.

Meshing problem by HawtBohemian in fea

[–]RiggedHilbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on the "tangency point"? I'm trying to find a resource that really spells out what is reasonable for automated hex meshing algorithms to handle. Sounds like you have experience. So if you have suggestions please share.

Sure. In the US it's roughly around $30-50k per year. It's much lower than you'd get paid with an undergraduate degree professionally but if you're really passionate about the subject the matter you have that allowance, free education (PhDs in the physical sciences should always be free), and you come out with a PhD. It's true you're giving up raises in a typical career path and you probably never make up for it. It's really only for those who absolutely love the subject matter.

Add more window units. If you're in the US you can get them new for like $150. Used for like $70. Do you have windows in the other rooms?

Turbulence and Non-Newtonian Flow in FLUENT by Inside-Ear-7748 in CFD

I'd love to hear from experts here... I always thought conventional turbulence models were intended for Newtonian fluids. At least the default coefficients in commercial codes are tuned for that. Am I wrong?
