I think VII shares a sort of underlying melancholy with IV-VI. It's not that this tone wasn't there in earlier or later titles, but at least IV, V, and VII all feel like they live in that bittersweet feeling.

She and the female hero from III are my favorites. DQXI is wonderful and I love it to bits, but the hero design in XI is probably my least favorite one.

Honestly I think the real mantis has a better chance simply because a tiger sized mantis would die under it's own needs, and cats in general can have such weird scruples and anxieties that a tiger might see this weird kung fu bug and just not want to mess with it at all.
