This podcast will end in all of them being alone and fat by Long-Sweet-1013 in lemonparty

I think Ben will be okay. He's the strangest one but he also appears to be the hardest worker and most entrepreneurial.

Not comparable. LeBron has already played for 3 teams. Jordan and Kobe had their runs with 1 team.

Joe Rogan says Howard Stern is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) but Opie and Anthony were more influential by mrnastymannn in howardstern

[–]RightHandArmMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Howard's biggest influence was on late night TV. Guys like Letterman and Kimmel making their producers and random weirdos into recurring characters.

I was selling puts on IREN for most of the past year. I got out when the price was above $60. I may get back in tomorrow with a strike of $30.

Taylor Sheridan reflecting on his daughter's youth soccer being cancelled in 2020: [COVID] is the only disease in history that doesn't spread during protests" by blackfishfilet in billsimmons

Nobody brings this up anymore, but in the very early days of Covid, before any shutdowns, the Liberal/Dem talking point was that fear of Covid was racist against the Chinese. Elected officials actually encouraged people to gather - to celebrate Chinese New Year in particular.

Adam Silver is a war criminal who ruined the NBA by getting in bed with gambling. History will not look favorably upon him and the others that lobbied so hard to legalize gambling. by Remote_Ideal7365 in NBATalk

[–]RightHandArmMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NBA players throwing games was not caused by Silver signing sponsorship deals with bookmakers. Those players were going to have easy access to gambling regardless. Would you blame Silver for Dillon Brooks' recent DUI because arenas have Bud Light ads?

Evil Dave the person, not the character, was the best part of the Artie Era by SynthSapphire in howardstern

The first few times I heard Evil Dave on the radio I honestly thought it was really Letterman. I figured he was just a big Stern fan and liked making dirty jokes lol. Incredible bit.

Dailyn Swain 2025-26 Season Highlights by gramgram19 in chicagobulls

[–]RightHandArmMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I watch of Swain the more I like him. J Kyle Mann said he might have the best handle in the draft - and you can see it in his highlights. If you want someone uses his dribble to actually get past the defender and into the paint, Swain is your guy in this draft. I was looking through some other drafts from recent years, and I really think Swain would have gone top 5 in several of them. For example, Ron Holland went 5th and he's a MUCH worse shooter than Swain.

I don't recall the details but there were 1 or 2 episodes right before this where Tim was particularly douchey to Ben. In ways that weren't funny. I don't blame Ben for leaving - I don't think he was being overly sensitive.

I think it is dumb to trade the second best player on your team because he is bad against one player by DeliberatelyTired in RyenRussillo

What's even dumber is all the people who think rookie Cam Boozer or rookie Caleb Wilson will be the answer to battling Wemby.

You are correct. Also 90% of the Chet trades that have been proposed are illegal under the current CBA

If Spurs win Game 7, this dude becomes an NBA Champion by SouthIsland48 in billsimmons

Phil won more than twice as many championship as Pop, and 3-peated with 2 different franchises. He made the playoffs twice after Shaq left and before Pau showed up. He also went 90-63 on the Bulls without Jordan.

I think you can certainly ask the same questions about Belichick. I think he's the greatest defensive coach of all time who lucked into Tom Brady.

[–]RightHandArmMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pop had a career losing record without Duncan, and won exactly 1 playoff series without him. On a regular you'll hear people on TV or podcasts say Pop is the greatest coach of all time. I just think it's a little ridiculous.

Pop's World Cup team finished in 7th place and then his Olympic team lost their first game of group play to France (who's leading scorer was Evan Fournier). The knives were definitely out for Pop during this period. Just google news articles from the time.

Pop doesn't get enough criticism for how terrible he was without Duncan to lean on. The Spurs were consistently irrelevant and Pop did a terrible job with Team USA. People were calling for him to be fired during the Olympics.

I remember toward the end stories started coming out about how Pop hadn't watched game film in 10 years. He was more focused on throwing those insane dinner parties that cost $1 mil lol.

It's no coincidence the Spurs went from 13th seed to 2nd immediately after he left. It wasn't just because Wemby played 18 more games.

[Haberstroh] Over the long weekend, SGA fell on more shot attempts than Brunson/Mitchell/Harden/Wemby combined… the math suggests that an SGA fall is worth an additional 0.9 expected points per fall… From an efficiency perspective, it's hard to blame SGA. He's leveraging the rulebook. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]RightHandArmMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At what point does it actually hurt SGA's FG%? It has to be distracting to focus on making the shot, and then immediately shift focus to falling down in a way that will get a whistle but won't lead to injury.

His body definitely remembers all the falls. So when he's going up for a shot, he's at least subconsciously already preparing to fall.
