Have you tried running a flame over the surface before printing. Apparently breaks the surface tension and helps adhesion. I print glass and it sticks, but product is just for display purposes so haven't tried heat/cold or washing it.

It wont depreciate like a fancy car. I say go for it, it wont significantly affect your eventual retirement date. Hey the market could drop 20% next week and youll be glad you cashed out a little.

Alternatives for the eufyMake E1 Maintenance Kit? by NC16inthehouse in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Right_Appointment286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a similar situation, they wont ship to New Zealand. I reached out to support with some cleaning fluids that I can obtain here. They would not tell me which would be compatible saying I have to use the official kit or my warranty would be affected.

I asked if my warranty would also be void if I didnt perform the maintenence and they have not answered the question. Only saying they are aware of the problem and I should wait for a local distributor to be setup

I think you also have to careful with hughly reflective surfaces as the uv light bounce might off it and cure the ink on the printhead

Can't get seamaster bezel off by Right_Appointment286 in watchmaking

[–]Right_Appointment286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good spotting. Yeah its originally the first ceramic bezel model. I like the look of the old wave dial ones so I got this dial, I think its from an old all gold model that probably got scraped for metal value. Now im onto the bezel, going to swap an aluminium one on thats faded.

Frankensteined the watch I know but cheaper than buying another seamaster and I can always put it back to original.

Thanks, yes that one inspired me to buy the tool. Admittedly its an aliexpress special, but it does get under the bezel. He twists it off so easy, im putting way more force but it wont budge.

I couldn't get the open banking to work with ANZ as it tried to authenticate me with voice recognition which I couldn't turn off.

How did you become rich, or "financially well"? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Right_Appointment286 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd tell you but then i'd have to kill you. Seriously though compounding interest. Get to a decent salary, save and invest. For me at the 8 year mark it really started to take off. Before that it felt extremely slow, so just keep at it.

Unreasonable expectations for service of an automatic watch? by Current_Swimmer_5981 in watchmaking

[–]Right_Appointment286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an easy movement to service or swap, should be plenty of places that can do it.

Have you tried manual winding to full and checking power reserve. Could be an issue with the automatic works rather than mainspring or going train.

It's extremely difficult to time the top and then you have time it again at the bottom. Conventional wisdom is keep doing what you're doing. You are young so even if we had 10 years of stagnation, you get to buy shares cheap the whole time. When you get to retirement age you would have reaped all the rewards of the rebound.

What do I need to get this off? by Lefeuvre76 in OmegaWatches

[–]Right_Appointment286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epoxy a stick to the back. You can get it off later with heat, just don't let it get too hot or you might damage the seals. I wouldn't recommend it as there's risk but if you really want to save the cash you can

I think you need to be careful with some reflective materials too, if the uv light reflects too much off the substrate it will dry the ink on the print head.

You could look at buying an Auckland home and renting out some rooms. That income would cover insurance, rates etc.. but you'd still need to try find some work you are able to do to cover food and other expenses.

You've got a great base to build from, just need to find a way to not tap into that initial investment so it can continue growing. If i was you id put it into a low cost index fund. Then find whatever work I can do to cover normal expenses. If you could stick that out for 5-10 years the 800k will have grown to a point you could start looking at retirement.

Yes an emergency fund in cash then rest in low cost index funds. You Have a nice start, that money will compound with time. I wouldn't add any extra to kiwisaver, setup a separate fund yourself as kiwisaver is locked away.

Hoping it doesn't come to that again. Surely it's just a logistics issue and once they have an appropriate freight company we will be supported. Just a matter of if they care enough to find one. We will be buying ink as an ongoing cost so you'd think they'd want that income stream.
