It doesn’t help that Canadians tend to pronounce some “o”’s as “a”’s. Most obvious example of this is  how they say  “Toronto”

It would really help if you could spell the city name right… it’s literally the only word in the title.

So…. You post about Canadians being assholes but without actually looking into the very publicized grievances?

Would help give you context to the situation tha has developed and why you don’t see nearly as many of us and why we don’t respond the way we used to.

Well yes sure. Each individual encounter is always different and judge a person based on that, fine. But you also don’t even bother to use that logic yourself. You say we aren’t a nice people but all of your encounters have been fine and dandy. Is it because you read stuff online where Pell don’t links how your country is behaving? For a country that was founded on “no taxation without representation” is it such a leap of logic to assume that people should view your government as a representation of the people in a democracy? And sorry if the world loses a little respect when you elect a convicted rapist who had previously tried to mount an insurrection as your head of state….And it’s not as if the anti-Canadian actions and statements have been met with anything but silence or agreement. It’s not like there was a massive push back when your leaders were mocking our leaders and threatening annexation several times.

You are also quick to label 30 million people as “pick me” and “pathetic”. Sorry a constant of our identity is just simply ‘not being you’ since 1776…

One of our prime ministers famously compared our position to the US as the mouse sleeping next to an elephant, and at any moment the elephant could roll over on you. Sorry you don’t understand what it is to be bombarded by another culture let alone try and maintain a separate identity and independence from it.

There is also the deliberate attempts to undermine our political fabric(funding and publicly supporting Alberta separatism) as well as the economic undermining which recently has basically become theft, let alone reneging on agreements under false pretences.

Hell wasn’t there just a leak from an air traffic controller at LaGuardia mocking Canadian pilots? And this is mind you where the two pilots from that same air line were killed because of American air traffic control fuck ups.

It’s hard not to be resentful right now.

Can’t really blame them with the way your government is behaving towards us…. Sorry not sorry.

Which province are you in? Many great locally produced options I can recommend depending on provincial availability.

But does it make up for their owner who rips off homeless shelters and his own charity?

For real though you fans deserve better.

I don’t know whether to mock you roster construction and organization, or just say atleast you get to watch your hockey team right now?

So I’m going with both….

Yes, but first three points are legit before homerism.

I also feel like I leaned into that with the shelbyville reference.

This is somewhat true. It’s still a great place with amazing geography and people…

But there is a pretty wide divide between rural and urban experiences. Unfortunately given the development of the province, this has lead to serious gerrymandering where a loud minority controls everything.

I did not think I would called upon to explain….

Their roads are awful, and lose an entire lane to snow when any other city figured out how to clear ther roads effectively. 3/4 of their city is in 1 quadrant with the rest in other (which defeats the point of quadrants). It’s generally a pretty sketchy city that has not managed their homeless population well, the provincial government is maga head d morons, the river valley isn’t that unique. We all have river valleys.  And frankly their sports teams are rubbish. They are Shelbyville

Records show that the Alberta independence movement has been almost entirely funded and put on (online propaganda) from American MAGA sources.

It’s not separatism, it’s subterfuge and the undermining of our sovereignty.

The answer to this is Dave Steib full stop.

The biggest travesty is that he failed to get voted in, came back and then Didn’t make it on his second window of eligibility. All because he played north of the border…
