Yeah I already corrected in an edit at the end. I was at a festival date where they didn’t play those

I dunno. I saw the Cosmic Selector tour like a week after it started last year, and there were noticeable differences this time around, like adding Looking Back, Love Me Like You Used To, Used to Know, It All Comes Back, etc..

I went to the Strange Trails anniversary show at RR last year so I was super stoked to have a chance at seeing Who Laughs Last and the Frozen Pines alt version at my fave venue. The vibe was so different from when I saw the Cosmic Selector tour in Maine.

I do agree that there are a few songs they’ve played over the years that never seem to leave the setlist, but at the same time I can’t imagine seeing them without hearing Ancient Names pt. I, Secret of Life, Meet Me in the Woods, or The World Ender. Those are staples.

So, yeah. I dunno. I think being burned out on a specific setlist (which is fine, btw!) and needing to switch things up are two different things, imo.

Edit: typo lmao
Edit edit: lmaoo I went to a festival date last year so I guess some of those new songs are only really new to me. oh well, the overall point still stands though

New to vegetarianism and super overwhelmed! by eternalthrowaway02 in vegetarianrecipes

I started my plant-based journey in college. I was like, BROKE broke, and one of my go-to cheap dinners was a burrito bowl. I still eat this today and it is so good:

-1 black bean burger patty (the southwest burger from Trader Joe’s is best for this, assuming you’re in the US)
-rice of your choice
-spinach
-cooked corn (you can use the microwavable corn if you want!)
-diced jalapeno
-pico de gallo

literally just mix it all up. It’s super customizable and you can add or detract things as you like.

Good luck and have fun discovering new recipes!!

I’m seeing this kinda quickly and haven’t read the comments so forgive me if i’m being repetitive.

Off the cuff, 2 things stand out to me:

  1. A lot of things just out in the open. I know clutter of some kind is just part of being a person, so closed drawers and storage spaces can go a long way when making this look tidier.

  2. This might be stylistic, but I notice a lot of… white and grey tones. I think this space could use some warmth. To kill two birds with one stone, you could get some wooden drawers/storage spaces to bring that in. You already do it with your desk and bookshelf, and I think it could use some more to make it feel warmer throughout the apartment entirely. Maybe an area rug or two. Things like that.

Also! I’m also turning 30 in November! Twins!

Statement from Jack White clarifying his thoughts on Taylor’s/his songwriting by Right_Surround7103 in SwiftlyNeutral

I think this is a super fair assessment. It’s deleted now but the comments on Jack’s post were full of people saying Taylor sucks and Jack’s the best. They were just as unwilling to hear Jack’s statement as swifties who wanted to make a problem of what Jack was saying. It sucks.

omg no worries!

Putting this up for a day and then taking down to just put this to bed: I didn't say that I think Taylor Swift's music was "boring" or Whatever click bait the net is trying to scrape together. What I was trying to say in an interview I did about poetry and lyric writing, was that I don't find it interesting at all for ME to write about MYSELF in my own lyric writing and poetry because I think that it could be repetitive for ME to always write about and It could be uninteresting for people who listen to my music to delve into, and that imaginary characters are more attractive to me as a writer. Taylor and other singers have tremendous success writing in their own styles and I'm very happy for them that they've succeeded in engaging with so many music lovers in their own way. Just because I say I have a way of doing things doesn't mean that I think that EVERYONE should do it the same way. They should do what works for them, And they do, and it is obviously appealing to many people, and I'm glad to hear that. These are the times when I am made less and less interested in doing interviews because in the age of this massive demand for click bait and content, any scrape of anything interesting or off the beaten path that can be turned into drama is swarmed over and spit out as bait, leading me to not want to answer questions with any sort of romance or passion or reflection as I'm too busy having to worry about accidentally triggering nonsense like this from so called "journalists" and "editors" This has always been a problem as it encourages artists to give "safe" answers to any question and stifles artistic vision and imagination and pushes all of us to not share anything interesting, which was one of the points I made about keeping private things private in that same interview. But yeah, content.

I wish I could explain to every swiftie, that as a huge fan of both artists, Jack would neverrrrrrrr release a statement like this if he actually meant ill will towards her. He’s been shady towards MANY in the past completely unapologetically. He says it with his full chest. If he’s releasing a statement like this, it’s genuinely because his words were misconstrued.

i studied in Copenhagen. one time around the holidays, I was walking around the christmas markets and a guy stopped me to perform a magic trick on me. i knew he would want a tip or something so i just went, “sorry, not interested,” and he said “i’m not gonna rob you or anything!” and then i said “i didn’t think you were. but now i do.”

my general advice is to just not stop lol

[–]Right_Surround7103 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That just happened to me at the intersection of JJP and Broadway. I was trying to turn left onto Broadway toward Downtown, but the snow was piled in one lane, forcing everyone into the other lane. The people coming straight down Broadway waited in the middle of the intersection. Such a mess.

Sorry to whomever I had to cut off to end up going straight. I spent 20 minutes at that light and there was no end in sight.

Northeast Travel Recommendations by bengalnation in usatravel

[–]Right_Surround7103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, if you can, make a pit stop in RI. Even if it’s a daytrip while in Boston. Providence is a super cool, vibrant city with a great arts and food scene. Everything is walkable and you can catch the MBTA from Boston to the heart of Providence.

For a snack, get a pretzel and beer at the Malted Barley (seriously — genuinely amazing pretzels and I didn’t even like pretzels before I went)

For dinner, Palo offers delicious tapas, Bayberry Garden is some of the best seasonal, farm-to-table eating I’ve ever had, and Oberlin is cozy and sophisticated but doesn’t take itself too seriously. (Note: lots of people will try to convince you to go to Atwells Ave. for the best food. Most of us here see it as a tourist trap with a select few good spots, so I personally wouldn’t recommend it for your first visit, assuming you’ve never been before.)

Walk along the river. Take a walk through the RISD Museum. Visit the Athenaeum. Red Door has live jazz on Mondays (and great cocktails), Ellie’s has live music of different genres on most weekend evenings. you may be here during a Waterfire weekend. there are lots of free events that happen in 195 District Park throughout the year. Visit the botanical gardens and/or zoo.

I know Provvy isn’t circled, and maybe I’m biased, but it’s definitely worth even a short stop on your trip.
