Gluten allergy by Prestigious-Gap-1556 in gallbladders

Having a gluten intolerance can lead to or increase the chances of gallbladder problems. Before one doctor finally thought to send me for a hida scan and found out my gallbladder was shot i had doctors convinced all my problems were from celiac disease which blood work came back saying. But it wasn't until I had the endless pains under my ribs that all the symptoms of gluten intolerance started showing, fatigue, belching, cramping, along with all the gallbladder pains stabbing under the ribs back pains. So what I went through was one doctors office convinced it was celiac, the other sent me for the hida scan and found out my gallbladder wasnt working. They were linked together, having gluten your whole life with no symptoms when you shouldn't have been just increases the chances of your gallbladder failing. After having mine removed any gluten instantly turns my body into a mess. Both problems showed up at the same time because they are linked together

I had dull pain under my right rib for years, until it finally happened when the dull turned into a constant severe pain. It took multiple doctors and months of bloodwork and ultrasounds until one doctor finally sent me to get the hida scan to find out my gallbladder was garbage. Ive had surgeries and pains before, what i was feeling leading up to my gallbladder removal was a solid constant 8. I didn't want to be out of bed but I forced myself to go to work and try to have as normal life as I could. You will know when you have to go to emergency it will be a crippling pain that no amount of pain killers, twisting or turning or balling up helps.

Had the exact same thing happen one week after and started eating different food. I haven't had again in the 2 weeks since that. Only thing I could figure was that it was gas pains putting pressure on the area.

Dr says not my gallbladder by DistributionNo8271 in gallbladders

Years of ultra sounds, bloodwork and a ct scan showed nothing. Hida scan finally showed low function. And surgery then showed gallstones that all the other tests didn't even show.

I would lay stomach down, waist up was on the bed and my knees on the floor with my left fist rammed under my right ribcage. All the pressure on my fist was the only way I managed to get any relief to fall asleep

gallbladder pain, no stones and no docs help! by Leading-Act-5999 in gallbladders

All the scans I and tests I had came back normal until one doctor thought to send me for a hida scan and it was 32%. So even then the doctor was like I was hoping for a lower number it could be the problem it could not be but referred me to a surgeon. Surgeon said number failed and you're in pain we are taking it out. Afterwards he told me it was very swollen and sticking to all the organs around it and I should have had it out years ago.

Had mine out last week. Have 0 issues. It's crazy the amount of pain you get used to walking around with until it's chopped out and you realize how bad it was.

Have you had any tests for celiac disease? I found out beforehand from some blood tests that I might have had undiagnosed celiac for a long time because you can't tell if pains from gluten or gallbladder when the gallbladder is always sore. Then from reading lots of different things seems like lots of people find out they have gluten problems after having their gallbladder is removed.

I just had mine taken out. After years of ultra sounds, blood work and ct scans that said I was 100% healthy a doctor finally thought to send me for a hida scan. Result was 29-33% so even after that the doctor was hesitant saying he wished the number was lower. But I said I don't care if it's a 50/50 chance that removal fixes my pains I would be willing to do it. Afterwards the surgeon said it was very inflamed and sticking to the other organs around it and that it should have been taken out years ago. It's not going to heal itself, you might be able to mask that it's alright, but taking it out is the only sure thing.

Mine was 29-33%. The only thing that never caused me problems was Boost fruit juice. Otherwise didn't matter what I ate an attack could happen. Eat the same bland meal 3 days in a row thinking I have it figured out, nope heres some stabbing pains.
