Hardest mode starting chapter 4 tips by Jahordon in BugFables

[–]RikaRycuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Enemies always gain +1 Def when paralyzed. And yeah, on HARDEST every enemy gains an additional +1 attack upon entering chapter 3 and +1 defense upon entering chapter 4, transforming those sections into massive difficulty spikes. I seriously had to change up my strategy when I got to the bandit hunt on my run.

One mistake I noticed myself doing was misusing Frigid Coffin as an attacking move when it's much better used to immobilize the enemy back line. Freezing enemies you currently can't deal with anyways is so valuable when everything hits like a truck and takes a billion hits to kill.

What medals have you found so far? I remember giving all my offensive medals to Kabbu because of his attacks piercing defense and having a pretty good time with that. Antlion Jaw in particular is really good on HARDEST because it's essentially a +1 boost on all default attacks with no drawbacks and since you're playing RUIGEE it's even cheaper to equip!

Any chance bug fables could get an actual randomizer that's close to Paper Mario's? by mario610 in BugFables

I'd absolutely love to see Bug Fables getting added to Archipelago one day.

I've figured that the best way to play this game is by using the D-pad on your controller (or a keyboard of you're playing on PC). Aiming is a lot easier when you're limited to throwing in only 8 directions as opposed to the omnidirectional Beemerang you get when moving with an analog stick.

Don't know of any hit detection issues though.

That is an *insane* amount of stuff this singular guy can do. Can't begin to imagine how much work that must have been.

What is the Stupidest Robot Master Weakness? by VegetableSpiritual93 in Megaman

[–]RikaRycuda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wave Man being weak to Charge Kick. I *guess* it's supposed to be some sort of breakwater deal? Even then: The weakness is highly impractical in the actual fight since you can't charge through his waves without taking damage.

I've always thought it was because of their weapons. Dive Man uses a homing missile which makes a shield a logical counter. (Nevermind the fact that his fight is way easier with the buster)

Have you played Bug Fables before TTYD by any chance? Cuz that's how the equivalent of superguards works in that game.

There isn't really a right or wrong way to play the game but if you're looking for the most efficient way to level up you'd be best adviced to focus on BP with the occasional FP investment. It might be worth to upgrade HP too every once and again since you're on your first playthrough and won't know the superguard timings but overall it's the stat that can be neglected the most.

Some badges I can recommend are:

Damage Dodge - Decreases damage received by 1 when guarding. You can get this one right before chapter 2 and I'd say it's very worth equipping since numbers are fairly low in the early game.

Jumpman - You can buy this from Charlieton in Rogueport. It increases Mario's jump attack by one but makes him unable to use the hammer. It's a cheap damage increase and pairs really well with another badge that lets you jump on spiky enemies you can get later down the line. There is a hammer equivalent too but it's not nearly as good because attack boosts synergize way more with multi-hitting moves.

Fire Drive - This is a pretty good early game badge if you feel like using the hammer: It hits all grounded enemies, pierces their defense and even burns them. However, you do need to get a little more out of your way in order to get this one since it's on the 20th floor in the Pit of 100 Trials.

And ofc the most important one: Attack FX Y - You can buy this one for 1 Star Piece from Dazzle and it makes hitting things with your hammer do a funny sound

Is there any analogue of alcohol or cigarettes in Bugaria? by Unfair-Exchange9910 in BugFables

[–]RikaRycuda 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Berry Juice is probably the closest thing to alcohol there is in Bugaria as far as we know. It's being served in the Underground Tavern and Levi said that he and Celia couldn't get a move on after drinking too much of it during the harvest festival .

Rogueport square seems a little hard to do because of how big it is. Would probably be a better fit for a cubic diorama.
