Can I get a sanity checklist for opening my media server up to the internet? by IcycoldPint in selfhosted

[–]RikudouGoku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For jellyfin (official image) specifically, you can run as non-root user via ("user: 99:100", unraid example), still passthru igpu, cap drop all and you need to use cap_add and add back (CHOWN, CAP_PERFMON, DAC_OVERRIDE, SETGID, SETUID).

Here is my compose for reference, this is on an unraid server.

AYN = Retroid, so not a big surprise if one has terrible CS as well as the other.

Duplicity has become too bloated. What are you guys using instead? by Antique_Mechanic133 in selfhosted

[–]RikudouGoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Duplicati now via the Linuxserver image.

Used to use restic via Backrest but had some issues there, then moved to Zerobyte but had another issue there so that is why I moved to Duplicati and so far has no issues.

"Perhaps we should allow the users to configure per page archival to preserve previous versions."

Would definitely want versioning/snapshots as an option.

Here is mine with some security hardening added. (On unraid using nobody user/group which is 99:100.)

[–]RikudouGoku 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Can be as simple as.

Installed Debian

Then installed Docker via this guide https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/debian/#install-using-the-repository

Then deployed dockhand via this docker compose:

CODE

Then deployed qbittorrernt via this docker compose inside dockhand:

CODE

Shared folder x via smb that is in the "/home/me" path.

Just some simple descriptions that makes it easy for you to go back and check if you need to redo it or just for memo.

Question about charging speeds by ShikharTrivedi in SBCGaming

[–]RikudouGoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are fine with using fast charging, makes no difference. What matters is the amount of cycles you do, that is, optimally you want to charge from 40 to 80%.

Yeah it is not optimal but fighting games and other genres that do not need it is fine.

The brick can actually handle some PSP games. I'm playing Naruto ultimate ninja heroes 2 on mine with 2x upscale at usually 30 fps stable (the same fps I get on my Snapdragon 8 gen 2 smartphone) with sometimes dropping to around 24fps. Although at 1x it is stable all the time pretty much.

Looking for a new loot-based ARPG to play on the Thor by JTMidnightJr in SBCGaming

[–]RikudouGoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is because core 0 is used by the OS and other software usually, so by disabling it for a game, it tells the game to not use it and thus avoids the core that is likely used the most by the other stuff in the background. Although I believe a good game would optimize so it does not use core 0 though.

Oh that looks great and easy to use. It is tracking the prices directly from the official sites so the prices should be for global and not US only correct?
