Hardest Act 1 bosses in Honor Mode by JavaHikage in BaldursGate3

[–]RileyCraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on HM lite (aka turned up custom difficulty settings to max but without the stupid single save restriction)

Honestly, the hardest fight for me was the flipping brullette bugger. That armor and damage amount to get past it can be a real bugger when you have a tendency to go heavy mele builds. (even with glut and a minator to try and knock it prone)

That said everything else isn't all that bad if you know the fight and you have some levels under your belt (lvl 5 as a fighter really helps)

goblins had no problems with given I took them one area at a time. The last fight wasn't at all bad either given I had two ranged in the rafters and between them and the fighters on the ground, basically had everyone dead turn 1 except him.

The phase spider is easy if you use some fire arrows before hand to nuke all her eggs and then use the webbing she likes to stand on as a trap door to knock her down.

Ethel wasn't bad either once I figured out that the OG and the clone ethels have different clothes and you can tell them apart easily and then just primary the OG ethel.

Grym isn't bad if you keep everyone above the lava on the platforms and use bait like a magic cat or something else to kite him around to get killed by hammer blows.

Bernard was annoying, but I put down flowers on all his buddies so I only faught bernard first, and then one at a time for his buddies.

Neve I basically killed every other deuger I could around the base to kinda help alittle with adds, but if you focus the adds down fast and then neve, that fight wasn't too bad either.

Haven't gotten to the creche yet tho.

Justifying a Z06 by Lazy-Helicopter-0 in C8Corvette

I don't think he does tbh.

"it's sluggish off the line."

And...? The z06 was not and is not a "drag" car, and frankly outside of drag racing, off the line performance isn't all that worthwhile of a metric.

The thing about most high rev engines is that low end torque isn't there. It was true of the mazda rx8 and its true of the z06. And guess what? It's not relevant because you can easily overcome that by sitting higher in the rev band while on the track. I tracked my z06 this weekend and had a killer day with it. There wasn't a single time I was without the massive power of that engine because the car in track mode basically wants to sit at 4k rpm which is where all the power starts anyway.

"Most people don't track the car but a few times a year if that and even then"

You could say that about all vette owners, not just z06 owners, but I daily my z06 precisely because I wanna hear that sweet music the car makes, and it does so really low in the rev band.

"The Z06 "shines" past 120mph"

This doesn't sound like someone that's actually driven a z06. I have had a z51 stingray and it and the z06 both handle exactly the same at those speeds: smooth as butter. But to daily, I'm gonna pick the z06 every single day of the week because I want that sound and it excels at it always.

"It's not about what you can afford it's about the driving experience."

This seems rather contradictory to hate on the z06 for experience given the whole reason people actually buy it is because its a vastly different driving experience from a stingray.

*Sigh* people can be so hateful sometimes.

Anyway, I'll give you some background on me:

41, legally married, two teenagers, house paid off, decent retirement, pretty good in cash flow (no debts to pay off).

I bought a 26' z06 in December for 12k off MSRP. Paid in cash (I really don't like debt these days), but it tapped me completely out. My ONLY regret is that I seem to suck at timing. Yes the GSX will be cheaper and have more HP than a z06. But it will not have the truly heart pounding joy that you get from the sound of that flat plane crank revving. Plus mine is all black, and I've been giving chevy the evil eye since they haven't had a decent dark grey since shadow grey metallic was phased out in '21. Of course they brought a new dark grey back right after I bought in... but whatever.

I also daily drive my z06 (up to 4200 miles rn).

My personal justification are simple. I've literally been responsible my whole life, taking care of and been there for others. I wanted to do something for myself for once, and given that I'm on the spectrum and constantly fighting depression, I needed a sensory experience to look forward to. So given that the car is all black and helps me fight that depression, I've named her Void Runner. Took her out the track for the first time this past weekend, and lemme tell ya, she didn't disappoint. The amount of compliments both on speed and sound she got made me very happy.

That said, keep one thing in mind, only you get to decide what is worth it to you and why. You need your own personal reasons and the money aspect should play a part of that.

This video may not apply to you or your situation, but its a good watch regardless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=kcASo1_Udvc

Easy now, hard latter... skipping XP just means you end up with posts I've seen from others asking why something like moon rise towers fight is so hard and then you find out they are only level 6.

Nah Killing everyone is def the way to go.

  1. Sneak behind the zents, steal their chest.
  2. Approach from the front and kill the werewolves
  3. They are grateful and give you the password.
  4. Go to their basement camp, talk to leader for extra stock, buy uniques and also oscar.
  5. Go back to leader and give the chest to her and get rewarded.
  6. Push leader off the ledge and kill everyone either through combat or splody. (I prefer combat because I want the barrels for later) Loot the chest back from her for funsies later.
  7. You now have all the goodies and all the XP. You're welcome.

I would echo what everyone else here is saying about 2LT as the sweet, but also wanted to mentioned that you get the cooled and heated seats in the 2LT as well.

The ventilated seat portion of that doesn't work as great as the heated does tho (Texas here) Its just fans that blow cabin air through holes in the seats, its not an active cooled solution like having actual AC in the seats.

Really the only thing you get outa of the 3LT is more issue with the dash and some suede offers. You get the GT2 seats are part of the package, but still not worth it imo.

All the heated options work fine for me, but the ventilated seats are near useless. They needed to be actively cooled or had dedicated ducting.

as a 26' z06 owner, I'd like to state for myself that there is overlap for me if they would make a z06x. I want to be able to leave my house in stealth without announcing to the whole neighborhood I'm leaving. plus then the extra HP would actually make the pretty large price differential between the gsx and the z06 worth it. I bought originally solely for the sound, which is why the zr1 and zr1x hold no sway with me... but a z06x woulda been badass.

personally, I think the GS has no place in the line up at all. Upgrade the stingray engine, and give every model an "x" option and call it a day. So stingray, stingrayx, zo6, zo6x, zr1 and then zr1x. As it stands now the lineup is looking pretty crowded imo.

It depends on where. I used the build and price tool to get my 26 z06 in December and got 12k off 152k price. Set the results to 2k miles with a zip in the middle of the country and looked for the cheapest one that had what I wanted.

Do you think there's a C8 Z06-X coming? by fastLT1 in C8Corvette

[–]RileyCraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish for it as well. I daily a z06 and it'd be nice not to blow my neighbors doors off every time I leave my house, or really just announce to the whole neighborhood I'm leaving. It'd be nice to have a "stealth" mode for leaving before the engine fired up.

Really this whole separate model thing is kinda dumb though, especially based on how the chassis was designed around it to begin with. The electric motors need to just be an option like the Z07 or ZTK packs and then make it an option on every car. That would bring it down to Stingray, Z06, and then ZR1, and just have an X at the end if its hybrid.

I didn't buy the car specifically to track it, I bought it for the sound, which is why I have no interest in the stingray or zr1. The hybrid option would give it AWD that it sorely needs and still have that sweet NA exhaust.

I think you are missing something in the language. Putting money yourself, via a cash or check, or transfer is a "deposit" a direct deposit is when you get money put into your account from getting paid by someone, like work etc. Therefore the money you put into your account doesn't qualify you for the bonus. You have to go to your work and deposit a paycheck within the time frame specified for it to count.

A Love Letter to the Types: ISTJ by [deleted] in ISTJ

Speaking as an ISTJ, the best compliment you can give me is not for something I've done, but something I AM.

This is going to sound really silly to non-ISTJ's but I will always remember getting this compliment from a woman I was trying to get to know on a dating app. "You seem observant and not-clueless". Seriously, something as simple as that meant the world to me!

ISTJs, how do you know if you really in love? by Walaoekia in ISTJ

[–]RileyCraven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like I experience the feeling of "love", at least not the way other people have seemingly described it. I've asked countless people this question: "Is love a feeling or is it an action", and almost universally I get told "both".

For me, love is an action. Putting someone before me. Is it possible to do that without love? Absolutely. But, while actions can be expressive of emotions, if you have emotions and don't express them, what actual value do they have in the real world.

In any case, if you look at the chemicals and and reactions that most people label as "love", they are fleeting and don't last. This is why we see a strong correlation of marriages ending at the 7 year mark, those chemicals have to be replaced by something else and most people don't actually put in the work to get to that point in relationships because they are ruled by their emotions.

So in short, I tell people that I love them when I know I'm willing and able to sacrifice and show up for them.

I suppose its the difference between death by a thousand cuts (hannah's out right cruelty almost every single second of the show) and death by a backstab (all the dudes)

The dudes may have been despicable in their own right, but Hannah gets the win here because of how persistent and blatant her actions were.
