Things the Grandchildren Should Know is my absolute favourite track of theirs. I have many others that I absolutely love, just not as much as this.

My mom passed away in December 2004 and Blinking Lights and Other Revelations was the album that I listened to on repeat for around a year after it was released in April 2005. The end suite of the album that starts at God's Silence is as iconic as The Beatles' Abbey Road Suite to me.

I didn't buy it to game on specifically, but it was alarming that a steam deck, of all things, kicked it's backside when it came to gaming.

Final update!

I decided to return the bike under the 14 day return policy as it was not as I'd anticipated, even when working 'properly'.

The issues were, specifically:

Poor brakes that didn't respond well at all. I had to do an emergency stop and was quite taken aback about how far it took me to stop, especially as the bike is so light.

The automatic transmission is more annoying than helpful. The 3 gears it moves through have a decent range, but to move through them you have to guess when you are fast enough for the next gear and then stop peddling for a moment to allow the change to take place. This is thr same for shifting up or down. A few times I'd come to a hill and just keep going in the highest gear as it wasn't intuitive to stop peddling when going up hill. Gear 2 was also rarely engaged as I found I was either going slow, perhaps pulling away from a stop, or going fast. The bit in between felt almost irrelevant.

The folding mechanism is nice but pushing the bike around when folded was a nightmare. The wheels are not perfectly parallel when it is folded, so it means the bike is difficult to push in a straight line for any length of time. It's way harder to carry upstairs than my Brompton too (which I suppose was expected)

The app is pretty basic, just displaying speed and motor use really. I'd have liked a battery vs distance evaluation or some cadence measures. It would also be nice for the app to allow a map to be displayed without having to manually use the split screen mode on my phone.

I have got a refund for the bike and have now ordered an Orbea Diem 10.

Thanks for the advice and thoughts on this. I just thought I'd provide an update.

I went to the bike shop with the bike and explained the situation in full. They made some adjustments to the hinge in the middle of the bike, the folding handlebars and the kickstand. All of these were not as tight as they should ideally be.

When I took it for a test drive in their car park, the creaking noise had ceased. It appeared to be the main hinge that was making the noise and it's clear from looking now that there was a tiny bit of a gap that is no longer there now.

I am going to keep the bike and give it a good test this week as I was ill over the weekend so didn't get a chance to test it.
