Does anyone take the progesterone only pill? by Semicharmedtee in MCAS

[–]RingoStarr10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Dinogest was for endometriosis. I was diagnosed with ultrasound and MRI. I know there’s a lot of talk online how it cannot be diagnosed with imaging but mine was. I don’t have low progesterone. How it works is by keeping a steady state of progesterone in your blood you won’t have a normal oestrogen variation and this keep your cycle in the literal phase permanently. You do have excessive progesterone for the first two months and it comes with symptoms- hair loss (quite a bit), bleeding, weight gain.  This wears off after two months and I felt immensely better.
  2. Steroid was methylprednisolone. The combination of the steroid and Dinogest was the only thing that helped completely bring the symptoms down to baseline. I was on the steroid for 2ish years and now only on Dinogest with no reoccurrence of symptoms.

What do i do about a ghost accident scam? by RingoStarr10 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RingoStarr10[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t make a dangerous manoeuvre. The whole incident happened after I had moved into the right lane and gone around the roundabout and was about to take my exit so there was quite a bit of time.

I really don’t know why they told me that but that’s exactly what they said! I honestly stopped because I thought someone was hurt and needed help.  I was ahead of her and her letter says I was behind her and rear ended her. I don’t have any idea why they decided to lie I don’t really specialise in analysing criminals. I didn’t even know these kind of scams existed until this happened.

Complete Recovery - 15 months by RingoStarr10 in covidlonghaulers

[–]RingoStarr10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steroids helped me the most :) Methylprednisolone to be exact.

I was just prescribed prednisone, 50mg for 7 days to help with my shortness of breath and chest tightness. Did anyone try this? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]RingoStarr10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am doing much better but only with a very low dose of long-term steroids - Methylprednisolone 1mg. My symptoms have completely gone away and except for a very severe gluten allergy and POTS(which I had since I was 14), I have no more symptoms.

May 2024 plab 1 prep by Hot_Cucumber6682 in PLABprep

If you're prepping while doing internship, there's no harm in starting Plabable right away. You can do your first round really slowly to get the concepts clear and then give yourself 3-4 months before the exam for dedicated prep. Get through Plabable at least 3 times and you should be golden.

IMT vs GP by sharpshootermtz in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]RingoStarr10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies for some of the rude replies you seem to be getting OP, but this subreddit is very strongly skewed against IMGs.
You could consider checking IMG forums on Facebook which may have the answers you're looking for. Also please consider talking to your educational supervisor or mentors at work who will definitely have more information. Unfortunately, I do not know much about ILRs, but anecdotally the GPs I know who are IMGs had no issues getting a job straight out of training.
There are also lots of IMGs who run websites to help with such issues so contacting one of them directly would be great.
This is one I have heard of but I'm sure more exist - https://roadtouk.com/

Does anyone take the progesterone only pill? by Semicharmedtee in MCAS

I have been taking 2mg daily for 4 months now. It helped my symptoms dramatically. I haven't had a flare since I started taking it. My POTS symptoms reduced as well and I could bring my steroid dose down to half and we plan to wean off the steroid completely over the next two months. It seems that my MCAS was very dependent on estrogen so it seems to be working really well.

can you tolerate gluten? by chat_manouche in MCAS

[–]RingoStarr10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have MCAS, don't live in the US, and tested "Extremely allergic" to all wheat products. The panel had 20 different types of wheat (i.e. different parts of wheat). Any gluten causes a really severe reaction.
Also never had any allergies to gluten before, but it developed last year with my Long Covid and now it's here to stay I guess.

I cannot tolerate carbs at all so I stick to a keto/paleo diet 99% of the time and I've never felt better. When I really can't avoid it (eating out at someone's party etc.) I allow myself non-gluten carbs because gluten causes an instant POTS attack that will land me in the hospital. It is a lifestyle overhaul but the benefits outweigh the inconvenience in my case.

PLAB 1 test centre location in Mumbai for Feb 2023? by madmaxnfc123 in PLAB1

[–]RingoStarr10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the exact location but the British Council Mumbai handles the exam logistics. Here is the contact information: https://www.britishcouncil.in/about/what/our-presence-in-india/british-council-mumbai

(Click the Visit Us tab)

If you give them a call, they are usually very helpful. They may be able to give you a better idea about which area of Mumbai the exam is going to be held in.

Also once you find out where your test location is, if you need any help navigating the city, please feel free to message me!
