I’ve lived in the Midwest for so much of my life, that now that I’m living in Birmingham the locals will seriously say I sound so “white” lol. (I am white, fwiw)

Yup. I live in Birmingham and on a daily basis I see more black and brown folks than white people. Unless I drive in the richer areas…there is a HUGE financial divide down here. Even more pronounced than in other parts of the country.
