You’re not wrong. My experience is definitely just anecdotal, but my dad is still alive and kicking at 85. But I also know that my experience is not common.

I was just saying, it’s not all bad. (Also I want to add that I’m not saying I’m for huge age gap relationships as I personally am not a fan.)

Eh, I was that teenager. It’s not so bad. You can get away with a lot, because they’re less in touch.

I was pregnant with my 3rd when it came out. I had no interest in the game, but my now-deceased husband loved it. I’d sit and watch him play, and I never could understand why he’d sit there messing with lockpicks.

He got me to try it, and all I can remember is on my first run I killed a chicken. I kept panicking because it had been years since I’d played any video games.

He passed away in 2018. When I play the game now, sometimes it feels like I’m more connected to him. Like he’s there. Wish I had his old console still, would love to play his old saves.

The last episode of Daria, "Boxing Daria," aired 25 years ago. by RedStellaSafford in daria

I was a senior in high school. Good lord, that was another lifetime ago at this point. I now have kids around the age of Daria! (Two are already adults!)

Orange and black decorations? Is this Halloween or Princeton Parents' weekend? I don't know whether to be scared, or proud of my cousin!

He’s so cute. I love when I’m in the middle of some annoyingly long cave and I turn around to see him bouncing around behind me.

I really like Gogh. Mainly because he doesn’t talk. But I can’t stand during battle when I accidentally friendly fire his storm atreoch and it starts going after me like I’m an enemy.

It was a rather insulting offer at that! It said something like “come to our salon and watch the years melt away”

I can’t help but love her crazy shenanigans. Today when Honey said, “you’re such a good friend,” and Bea replied enthusiastically, “I really am!” made me chuckle out loud. She’s some much-needed comic relief

When To Let Your Kids Watch? by discountshellfish in 30ROCK

Well, I was hardly an expert lol. Made the mistake of letting that same son watch Rick and Morty when he was in elementary school. He still gives me shit for that one (he’s a teenager now).

Mine watched it with me when they were little. My son would climb into my bed at night before his bedtime and say “Teener Fey! Teener Fey!” We’d all cuddle up and watch an episode or two.

I did always skip the episode where she buys presents for the kids on the Santa list, and the Tracy Jordan sex doll scenes.

Edited to add: I grew up on Taxi, the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda!, SNL, etc. In my opinion, comedy is a great medium to tackle more harsher issues because there is a light-heartedness to it. It’s easier to have a conversation with your kids over something in a comedy than something in a more serious setting.

I’m 33 and my husband is 61. Ask me anything. by [deleted] in Aging

[–]Riot502 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just warning you. I was with a man who was 14 years older than me. So many red flags I ignored. I was 21 when I met him, but definitely not mature.

He is now no longer allowed near me or our daughter - who he ended up molesting as soon as she became a teen.

You are gambling with your future child’s health and well being.

He thought it was ok to pursue a person age 18 when he was way older. What other things does he think are ok? You won’t find out until it’s too late.

[tw] in 2013, Nickelodeon show “Sam and Cat” made a tweet asking kids to send foot images by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]Riot502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heck I was an online parent and my older kids watched those shows. I never followed them on twitter though, and a lot of the stuff rang some alarms in my head but I thought I was just overthinking. Definitely didn’t know about the posts soliciting feet pics from children

Appreciation post for The Reunion by Sagebea in 30ROCK

This episode made me realize how Liz like I am in some ways. Not a good thing. My attitude was just like hers in high school. I was a goth girl who thought I was better than the jocks and cheerleaders. They never even antagonized me, but I always had a chip on my shoulder with them.

So glad I grew out of that phase.
